Review

This is the first Yngwie’s album. It was not what he wanted, because of the sound of it. It turned out sounded so americanized, and unmelodic as he says. But Yngwie’s participation on this album made it sounds better.

In the begin of the song “Hot on your Heels”, Yngwie made an incredible solo , so in that time he wanted that this song would called “Rising Force”, but Mike Varney didn’t want to pay the publising, so it was considered of “Hot on your Heels”. He didn’t care because he didn’t want to stay with that band.

Overall, his playing on Steeler is chops city- flowing and intricate, with a distinct emphasis on drama. He dubbed acoustic guitar in “No Way Out” and “Serenade”, and layered electric tracks together for the sweet, multi-guitar sound of “Abduction”.
