Tie Corps Career: I have spent my entire
Emperor's Hammer career in Wing IV. After a lengthy search for a good
Star Wars gaming club, I decided to join the EH in August of 1998. The
TIE Corps was still in the old ranking system at this time and I was given
the ID line of TRN/LT Jonathan/Teth 3-3/Wing IV/SSSD Sovereign. Teth Squadron
was under the command of LG Domi and the wing was under the command of
LG Caddo. Not long after joining, the downsizing occured, the new rank
system was put into place, and Teth saw a double turn around in CMDRs.
When the smoke cleared, LG Domi and CM Connie had both stepped down as
CMDR and the new CMDR was CM Mortu. He took me under his wing and I credit
him with my entire TC career. If not for Mortu, I would have probably
quit the TC after the first few months but he encouraged me, helped me
along, and was (and still is) a great friend. My time in Teth went very
well. I flew a lot and filled in as Acting CMDR several times. Before
long, though, Mortu had to step down and I was chosen as the new CMDR
of Teth. My tenure as CMDR was short lived, though, due to the limited
amount of time I had to devote to the job and my lack of experience so
I stepped down. Eventually, I followed Mortu to Lamed Squadron where he
had become CMDR. Again, I flew a lot and filled in as Acting CMDR when
needed. During my stay in Lamed, I also filled in as Acting CMDR for Cheth
Squadron while CPT Demon Yoda was on leave for the Summer. The dwindling
amount of activity in Lamed brought about an idea for a competition that
would, in the end, earn me a Bronze Star: the Sovereign Summer Free TIE
Challenge. Our Wing Commander, GN Ricardo, ran the competition and I assisted.
Helping do this was a wonderful experience to me and proved that there
is more fun in the TIE Corps that just flying. While the competition was
going, what I consider to be the biggest landmark in my TC career occured.
I applied for the position of Yod Squadron CMDR as was selected to do
the job. I had always secretly admired Yod and thought of it as an elite
squadron of sorts. To be named CMDR was a thrill then and is still the
pinnacle of my time spent in the TIE Corps. I served as CMDR for several
months and reached the rank of MAJ before having to step down due to real
life obligations. Believe me, if I had been able to do the job like I
wanted to, I would not have stepped down. While CMDR, I instituted a drive
to gain more Squadron Citations because we practically had none. This
marked the beginning of the climb to the number of citations we have today.
This brings me to my current status as a FM in this great squadron.
The summary and highlights of my career are as follows:
CMDR of Teth and Yod Squadrons
Acting CMDR of Teth, Lamed, Cheth, and Yod Squadrons
Assisted in running the Sovereign Summer Free TIE Competition
Named CMDR of the Month 2 times
Named Pilot of the Month 1 time
