This site is dedicated to this great team: Stone, Woods & Cook !
Fred Stone, Tim Woods, and Doug Cook, who would have known what indelible mark these three men would leave in drag racing history. It is undeniable that the SW&C Willys has become the car that says more about going fast with doors and fenders than probably any other race car of the gasser wars era.

The team assembled and raced their first car in 1961. It was a metallic blue car and was wrecked very early on. The useable parts were transferred to another body which was a light blue car.
After another accident the car was painted black for the 1965 season and was almost unstoppable in this color. Finally the car was repainted metallic blue and remains this color today.

2 more interesting,. and not to be overlooked facts about this team:
1. The fear that the team struck in the hearts of their competitors as they dominated the "Gasser Wars" in the 1960s, and
2) the fact that Cook was Caucasian, but both Fred Stone and Tim Woods were African American. Their partnership was the first competitive multi-racial team in drag racing. In those days, that meant a lot, they did not see skin color at all-they were united for one thing : TO RACE and WIN!
