CTO - Jabber.com

Lead development and commercialization of open source instant messaging platform, Jabber. Developed hybrid open source/commercial software process to facilitate knowledge sharing between open source and commercial developers. Created architecture for highly scalable messaging platform based on J2EE framework for VOIP, PamForum and IMUnified protocols and future SIP, IMXP implementations. Managed open source and commercial developers using hybrid process for accelerated development and commercial release. Actively lead and created business plan for Jabber.com. Provided basic research and strategy for Jabber Open Source License. Provided Technical Q&A and due diligence for partners and investors.

Director - Technology Labs for Diamond

Created infrastructure and process for solution center, technology innovation center. Proposed initiatives and created plans for distributed/gated software development process, application server analysis framework, embedded linux development, corporate messaging platform. Architect and Chief evangelist The Locomotive Project - Lead efforts to open source Leverage's commercial Java application server. Created open source business plan and financial model, lead licensing strategies. Managed open source and commercial developers on the Locomotive project.

For several Internet startup companies managed and directed software development teams, both internal and external consultants. Provided architectural direction, selection of development tools, and review of features and progress. Integrated tools to accomplish performance testing and projected hardware/software/network needs for an 18 month window based on business plan forecasts. Provided strategic and business planning advice for many Internet start-up companies, participating in financial models and ideation.

Lead architecture of Locomotive, Java based commercial application server for use on Leverage's consulting projects. Participated in Java working groups and contributed to optimization of Java based application server environments.

Lead developer and architect of ECI's Global Classifieds Systems for aggregating online classifieds from major newspapers and local outlets.

Senior Software Engineer: September 1990 - September 1994

Technologist at leading expert systems product company. Created software systems for expanding the use of expert systems technologies across domains and vertical markets using Gensym's flagship product, G2.

Development of Neuron-Online with Dr. Mark Kramer. Neuron-online is an neural net framework built on the G2 expert system. It has been used in sophisticated sparse data search and correlation applications across many verticals including, financial market analysis,

Developed Network Management Interface "The Fault Expert" for G2 Real Time Expert System. Currently leading Expert system fault diagnosis tool, used for diagnosis of complex SNMP networks, reduced downtime by 20% in wide deployments. Customers include AT&T , Motorola (IRIDIUM), HP, Sprint and MCI.

Consulted with Japanese government NUPEC agency to develop Nuclear monitoring application. Successfully completed project, resolved contract disputes and secured cooperation of Mitsubishi, Hitachi and Toshiba corporations. Developed sophisticated "failure-recover" system for on-line monitoring of Nuclear Reactor data feed. Developed "faster-than-real-time" inference processor architecture to display "what if" scenarios. This system was used by the European Union following Chernobyl accident to provide centralized monitoring system of Soviet and Eastern European nuclear facilities.
