II. When we last left our heros...
This section details the
last gaming session for those not there in as much detail as can really
be expected...
Sterlings Slash game:
Just back from Gehenna,
where they destroyed the Tachnarium base creating Modronoids, they finally
get a chance to rest and recuperate. Declared heroes by the Order of the
Planes Militant, support seems to be everywhere for them. However,
Valrus's escape and Tzarkin's death still gives a dour note to the entire
preceedings. About a week afterwards (and just after the completion
of their rebuilt Clerk's Ward base), they hold a funeral for their fallen
comrade.
The funeral was very hard.
Members of the Mercykillers, Order of the Planes Militant, and others all
attended to The proceedings. However, not all were there, as Nayrb,
overwhelmed by his sorrow, took Guard Duty at the Prison rather than see
his
fallen comrade is such poor condition.
There were many tributes to the dead, including a illusion showing Tsarkin
in all his glory from Kailrin. One of the guests, a fire genesi,
marked his fallen friend's hand. Christian Nightsong, as he would
introduce himself to the members of the Slash, was a friend and had a good
working relationship with the fallen member of the Red Death.
However, not all was
to honor the fallen man. A shadowy thief dropped a small bag into
the hub-bub. The bag contained a poison dart trap (interestingly,
the darts had Kailrin's and Jerika's symbols upon them) and a small illusion
generator, showing the cooperation of Jandau (renowned Arch-enemy of the
SS) and Valrus, and the explosion of the SS. As you can guess, our
heroes were not amused.
There was a spirited
chase of the shadowy thief, including over roofs and into the wall of an
old florists shop (the old florist also appeared to be a member of the
Old Crones Guild). After a thorough search of the building, they
found a tunnel into UnderSigil, where the Slash quickly lost track of their
prey.
Worried by these images,
the group decides that they need more support. They ask the genesi
to join them in Tzarkin's stead (to which he accepts), and the group decides
to go
to their Outlands base (outside Sylvania, the
death place of another member of the SS). There, they want to use
the crystal ball there to scry and see where the two villains could be.
They stepped through the Lower Ward portal to Sylvania, which is when the
Portal Lag hits…
Planescrape:
We
last left our heroes in a bit of a fix. They went to the astral plane,
to try to rescue their friends (George of Terry Terrific Tumbling Tiefling
Troupe and Gli, the lightboy), and their first attempt failed. Then,
finding help within the Living Sea in the "fish people" (as coined by Lanse),
and within the Shattered Temple (through the Body of Asokar) from the Athar,
the group set up for a large assault.
The battle went fairly well (or as well as can be thought while fighting
the Githyanki in the astral plane), and our team of heroes sneaked into
the strongest prison block. There, they found not only the prisoners,
but also a team of Githyanki, lead by the Knight Tahu'in. This is
where they started from this week.
After a hard fight (punctuated by Max casting a strong lightning bolt,
the near deaths of Tokkon and Seglan, and failed opening of a cell door,
killing the occupant), the heroes proved to be just that and won.
Through the help of an Elderly priest of Waukeen (the lost Toril god of
Wealth and Trade), and some lucky rolls, Seglan disarmed all the trapped
doors of the 4 prisoners (George, Gli, Tongas [Waukeen priest] and "Big
Guy" [old friend of Seglan, now Proxy of the giant god Annum]). Then,
with a diversion by Vincent (group's friend, an Elven Infiltrator), using
the slain githyanki's Silver Sword, the group escaped, as did about 10%
of the attacking troops (githyanki did end up holding the citadel).
"Big Guy" went back to Annum's palace in Arborea (hoping Seglan would come
and visit), the priest of Waukeen disappeared, and George and Terry (Max's
mentor) went back to performing (as Max did, retiring to stay a performer
at Jo-Ann's), Mara actually got back to work from healing to old
fasion singing and serving, and Gli got back to being a lightboy (but at
least being a little more careful about it).
Other minor things occurred after this. 1) Seglan did get to go to
visit "Big Guy" and was rewarded with pendants for him and his friends,
and the gift of having his clothes merge into him. 2) Malgorn wandered
off, not to be seen again, swearing he'd take his new Dwarf Bread (his
new familiar?) and find a nice quiet library to read books in on Toril.
3) Tokkon healed and took a trip home to the Beastlands and finally got
to see his family again. 4) Mara worked in the bar some more.
5) Seglan, a few months later, takes a job (as part of a favor) from Estevan,
of the Planar Trade Consortium, to go to Cersei (poor spelling) to follow
some barmy modrons out of the prison plane. 6) A crazy wild mage (however,
no-one knows he is a wild mage) joined the party. And finally, 7)
Jo-Ann sighed, having shown a slightly adventuresome side to her, yet looking
strangely at Seglan. Ah, what would Sigil be without the Chaos…
III. When we meet again…
This shows our next game time and local Sterling Slash, Friday, June 25,
6 PM, College of DuPage, SRC North Café.
Planescrape, Sunday, June 27, 1 PM, Dan's Apartment.
You need any better details, you know where
to ask…
IV. Bazaar Bargins
Spotlighting the best the
Great Bazaar has to offer, we spotlight a shop a week.
This
week, we look at Wooly Cupgrass. This crazy bariur is known for his
ability to identify potions or any liquid and not suffer the consequences.
He's drunk enough poison to kill a pit fiend ten times over, only to say
that it had a bit of tang (but still identifying the poison). He
also sometimes drinks all of the liquid, if the mood hits him. He
does this for 10 GP. He's a risky venture, but this Free Leaguer
knows his stuff. Beware of his barmy rants and wild actions, but
he is the most accurate in all of Sigil.
V. Jo-Ann's Bulletin Board
This is the announcement board at everybody's favorite inn and tavern.
Jo-Ann is not responsible for any announcements listed. If you want
to say somethin' put it up! If you're offended, pike it!
All my players,
I intend on working on the website again. Look on there, and send
me what I need.
I'm working up a list now,
so you'll see your name up here detailing my needs next
week if you don't get back
to me.
