{{ A Kiss in the Dark }}

Dark water was everywhere as far as the eye could see. The royal blue purplish color grew immensely darker with ever second. The ruby eyes of the youth looked around the area, but couldn't see. He tried to yell, but soon he couldn't breathe. A voice was heard echoing through the liquid prison. A name was called, but he couldn't make it out. A figure appeared in front of him that looked similar to a hand.
Soon, his eyes had opened to a dusk. Dark Link looked around himself and found that he was still in Kakariko. In his arms was Link, who was still soundly asleep. Letting out a sigh of relief, the brunette closed his eyes once more and let sleep take over. Yet what puzzled him was that he didn't know what dreaming was.
Back in Ganondorf's Castle, the evil king himself sat on his throne and waited for the news. His servant was arriving to castle to report about the Water Temple and about the Hero of Time. Smirking, he thought that maybe it was the end for the elf. But then, who knew about it. Suddenly, the front door to his throne was opened and the Gerudo with orange eyes and red hair came in. She tried to her best not to look to worried.
"Tell me!" Boomed Ganondorf's voice through the empty hall."Is the Hero of Time dead?"
"Uh, My Liege." Spoke the Gerudo."He is still alive...."
"Then Morpha should handle him. How is Dark Link doing?"
"Uh....it seems like....he must have failed since he....he's vanished."
"Vanished? If he were dead....he might be in the Evil Realm, but...DAMN! I created him too good to fail!"
"Uh....um....sire....about Morpha....."
"Yes, what about Morpha?"
"...he's....it....is..ahem, Morpha's been defeated."
"WHAT?! That water demon was designed to be indestructable!"
"......"
"GRRR!! That brat will pay with his own blood! The next beast will surely kill him. Bongo Bongo is already dead, so no need to worry. Ha ha ha ha!"
"Heh heh heh."
"Shut up! There's nothing funny! Now go!"
"Yes, s-s-ire!"
The Gerudo woman then bowed down and walked backwards in fright. But being so clumsy, she fell down on her butt and struggled a bit to get up. Once up and she ran to the door while looking at the unamused face of the king. She crashed into the door, falling on the ground, then went away.
~What idiots I have!~ Thought Ganondorf as he sat down in front of his organ and played a frightful song.
Morning soon arose and so the birds sang a bit. One tiny bird in particular flew to the window pane of Link's room and lightly chirped happily. The first to wake was Dark Link. He saw the little creature and wondered what it was. He had never seen one of those before. Slowly and carefully as not to wake the blonde up, the ruby eyed youth walked to the window and examined the bird once more.
Placing a hand to the window, Dark Link noticed something else. Glass. The raven haired boy had never actually touched glass, nor did he ever think of such an invention. After a long time, Dark Link finally opened the window to the outside world. He gave the little bird a smile and reached out a hand. The animal then sensed something in the boy, it got up and flew in the air while chirping very alarming. It got both itself and Dark Link frightened.
'It sensed my bad aurora.' Thought Dark Link as he tried to reassure himself.'It was scared of me, like the horse.' His smiled then had turned into a frown as he just slouched over the window and pondered at this. With all the ruckus going on, it had awakened Link from his slumber. His sapphire eyes tried to adjust to the light in the room. Navi slowly started to glow again as to say that she too was opening her eyes.
Upon being fully awake, Link managed to catch the lone silhouette by the window. As far as he could tell, something was bothering his shady friend. Trying his best not to let out a sound of pain, the Hero of Time sat up on the bed. But a sharp pain in his chest as well as his arms made him fall back. Letting out a noise, he managed to awaken the brunette from his thoughts.
"You are awake." Said Dark Link as he viewed the pain that his lighter self was doing."Are the wounds getting worse?"
"No." Lied the blonde as he tried to move a bit."It's just that....nevermind. What were you doing there?"
"I saw a strange small creature. It had an orange, long mouth, weird yellow feet, and strange blue hands with long strange fingers."
"Oh, that was a bird."
"A bird?"
"Yes, they fly into the sky and chirp."
"Oh."
"What's wrong?"
"I saw the bird make loud noises. It seemed somewhat....afraid."
"......maybe I should show you around town. Ugh!"
"What's wrong?"
"I'm okay...."
"Link!" Chirped Navi as she flew around the boy."You need to rest."
"Yeah, I know. If I go the Death Mountain to the Great Fairy, I'll be okay."
"Perhaps we should."
"But first, breakfast."
"*sigh* You're so predictable."
"What's breakfast?" Asked Dark Link.
"Oh, I'll show you."
Carefully, Link had dressed into his green tunic. His long blonde hair certainly was a hassle. So he found a piece of leather string and held his long mane in a ponytail. The shadow did the same thing then awaited for the next thing the lighter counterpart will do. He smiled and signaled him to come. Dark Link had to carry Link as he wasn't able to walk correctly yet.
Upon outside, the bright sun had hit the two teens. For the first time, the ruby eyes of the youth looked around the place and examined it. The sun was so beautiful and the village looked quite peaceful. He managed to catch the glances of some unsuspecting eyes, but meant no harm.
"Say, what would you like for breakfast?" Asked the light elf as he looked at the fascinated other.
"What's breakfast?" Questioned the brunette as he looked confused.
"It's food. The meal at the beginning of the day. You....never ate before?"
"I don't recalling doing this 'eating' as you say. All I ever did was fight, kill, and hide."
"Then, I guess it wouldn't be a problem finding something for you to try then. Let's see.....if I recall correctly, that home over there offers free food to anyone in need. The lady in there is a nice old woman."
Having nothing other then just go for it, Link smiled at the dark one and moved towards the direction, letting the other youth know where he wants to go. Upon arriving a rather quaint house with a red roof and rather old looking door, they opened the door to find other people lounging around. The old lady of the home looked to see who her new visitors were this time. She didn't mind who it was, nor did she wanted to be alone. Smiling warmly at the two youths, the woman turned to them.
"Good morning, boys." She replied as she pointed to some seats."Please take a seat."
"Thanks, Madame Yrite." Spoke the blonde Hylian as he lowered himself lightly to his chair.
"Are you all right Link? Do you need a doctor?"
"No, I'm fine. I'll be all right."
"Okay......who's your cute friend?"
"Oh, this is....uh.....Kail. Kail, this is Madame Yrite, she feeds the needy and all."
"How do you do, Kail?"
"Um....how do you do, Madame Yrite." Spoke Dark Link "Kail" as he bowed down.
"My, what manners you have. I'm glad that you came for a free breakfast and all. I hope you stay for a while in my home. You're new around here, aren't you?"
"Yes."
"Where did you come from?"
".....I came from.....a place that.....is far away and very dark."
"Oh...you poor dear. Escaped a battlefield. Oh, my goodness! You're a down right cold, very pale, and very skinny. I will warm you up and feed you until you fatten up. Now, the food is almost ready."
Madame Yrite went back to cooking as her companion, Geena set the table for the guest. Once the food had arrived, Dark Link could only just look at it a bit strange. He had never ate before and didn't know what to do with the utensils. The Hero of Time had to help him with it and showed him the proper way to eat. As the stew was on the spoon, the brunette moved it closer to his face. His pale face could just feel the steam of it just patter his face.
Closing her ruby eyes, Dark Link placed the spoon in his mouth and savored the taste. Opening his eyes wide, he couldn't believe what happen. He had never tasted anything so good in his short life, but then again, he had never tasted anything before. As upon instinct, he dug his spoon in the stew and gobbled up the bowl.
"My, what an appetite." Spoke Madame Yrite.
"Excuse me," Link had said.
"Yes?"
"Can Kail stay here for a while?"
"Sure, why?"
"I've got a few matters to attend."
"In your condition?"
"Yes, I've got to go."
"Be careful."
"Don't worry. Kail, stay here and help Madame Yrite, I'll be back as soon as possible."
"Okay." Replied the crimson eyed youth as he saw the blonde leave the house.
