Emry Almasy
A retired army Captain, Mr. Almasy sits on the opposite side of the political fence from me, but his experience, erudition and enthusiasm make him an absolute thrill to game with... even if we do have the occasional argument. I can always count on Emry to catch an obscure reference, spot a narrative turn of phrase or to revel in the passion of the moment. I can also count on him to be somewhat ruthless in his choices, but I find this alternatre viewpoint illuminating and valuable and I, for one, am glad that I can pit the courage of my convictions against his considerably greater courage from time to time.
Hallie Bowman
Hallie is my wife of seven years and she sews really well. She's more of a casual gamer than anything else, but she's kind enough to fill in when our group is short of the feminine perspective (or short players in general.) Out of gratitude for this, I go shopping more than I used to and have given real consideration to the shoe and purse needs of a maturing woman. Hallie earned my eternal admiration when she saved me from monsters on our honeymoon and when the first character she ever created outshone any Ghostbusters RPG character I've ever run into (she played an ex-gold-digger with a string of dead husbands who kept returning from the grave to haunt her, so she opened up a gentler, more open-minded, less proton-pack-heavy GB agency. Seems she really did have a soft spot for the old boys.)
Rp Bowman
I wrote this gorrammit page. It would look really stupid to say nice things about myself and I absolutely refuse to do it. Sometimes, when I bathe, I don't stink. Uh... Hallie's looking at me funny. I've played a lot of games and I've come to the conclusion that the main thing that gets in the way of a really satisfying game is often the absolute authority of the GM, even when I'm the GM. I also like talking animals and I'm not ashamed of that... by which I mean cute talking animals and bugs bunny... not BUGS BUNNY IN DRAG, mind you... although that is funny, sometimes. I more prefer the Bugs Bunny that hops out from behind a building and whacks someone in the shins with a 2x4. Hahaha! That's what I like: cute little things, hitting each other!
Randy Martins
Randy is a kind soul with a lot of cats. This great big bear of a man has a heart to match and a house full of kitties. He often provides us a place to get together. A gentleman of the old school of gaming, I admire his ability and willingness to try new systems and new approaches to his beloved hobby. Sometimes, he has a habit of rubbing women the wrong way, but this is not out of chauvanism or insensitivity, but rather out of a profound desire to be helpful. Randy tends to win boardgames if you don't watch him, but sometimes it gets tiresome yelling "stop Randy! stop Randy! He's gonna win again! STOP HIM!" It breaks my heart to do this, but it must be done. Sometimes I like for Emry to win instead (grumble grumble grumble.)
John Ross
Emry's teenage grandson, John has a singular imagination and, if anything, even more raw enthusiasm than his more level-headed grandfather. John has a rugged sense of adventure and shows remarkable aptitude in a wide range of fields, including construction, physical fitness and, lately, genetic engineering. Being a teenager, it's sometimes hard to keep up with him. Also, he is unabashedly munchkin, which I find valuable for somethings, but troublesome for others.
Jacob Wright
Jacob has the best sense of humor in our group, to my opinion, and has shown some true leadership qualities, in that he understands the art of compromise, and he also likes talking animals for his own reasons. I'm pretty sure he isn't into the sexual side of it, although I wouldn't take issue with that, because Jacob towers over me. Technically, John does too, but John needs armor and a sword to kick my butt while Jacob could do it barehanded. Fortunately, Jacob is a gentle giant who sometimes gets frustrated when I run off at the mouth. Jacob is one of those guys who SHOULD have a ton of girls hanging off his broad shoulders, but is much to shy to go down that road, for which the roleplaying world is grateful. The dating world's loss is our gain. Also, having dated and, eventually married, I would NEVER encourage a young, elligible batchelor to go out there and get messed up. NEVER! Grrrrrrr!
I wonder how you spell elligible. I lost my dictionary and, although it would look better to spellcheck this document, I find that, even when I take the time to do so, words somehow mysteriously get garbled anyway. Tragic, really. I'm Arpie (Rp) and you can correct my spelling and grammar errors at yokeltania@yahoo.com. Drop me a line.
