Epsiode II: Paris
What I remember:
The episode started with M'KAIN and CAPTAIN RAY having an argument atop the Eiffel Tower. A bunch of zombie monkey people were scaling the tower. CAPTAIN RAY was complaining that M'KAIN had betrayed her when a zombie monkey guy knocked her off the observation deck. M'KAIN lept after her to save her and the credits rolled.
After the commercial, the show started in with a flashback saying something like "3 days earlier" or something to that effect. We saw ALBA telling CAPTAIN RAY that he was dissapointed in her for losing the rambunctium he had promised to a client. CAPTAIN RAY was irritated because the client had planned to use the rambunctium to destroy a whole city, including CAPTAIN RAY and her crew. ALBA says he is dissapointed that his "daughter of battle" would worry about a little thing like being blown to tiny bits by a series of energy-chasing mushroom clouds. ALBA says he will forgive CAPTAIN RAY if she takes one more job from him, one he says will be much easier and more appropriate.
Meanwhile, DR.CULLEN met with the sinister MR. BLACK in order to make a deal as to where to drop off the stolen rambunctium. MR. BLACK gave DR. CULLEN a new assignment, to find a special artifact located at the top of the eiffel tower. FATHER BEN overhears DR. CULLEN and the two have a deep, meaningul discussion in which it is revealed that DR. CULLEN's son is captive.
CAPTAIN RAY and M'KAIN eventually go to talk to FATHER BEN, for some reason I forget, and DR. CULLEN hides in the office. While he does, a strange image appears on a viewscreen, that of a little anime girl. It turns out to be AI, who quickly develops a crush on the enigmatic and "silly" DR. CULLEN.
Despite NOVICE RUSH's alarm at AI's behavior, FATHER BEN says it's best if he stay behind, indicating that FATHER BEN knows more about what's going on than, well, the little lemur-monk lets on.
The crew flies to Paris, which has some sort of deadly shield around it. AI shows up and messes with the crew again, but they manage to land the Chaucer II inside Paris safely, if without power and some distance from their goal. DR. CULLEN, however, is ejected by AI (which appears to be part of his plan.) He rondesvous with MR. BLACK and they scheme to get the thing atop the eiffel tower.
While BROTHER NARAT stays behind to affect repairs of the Chaucer II, CAPTAIN RAY and M'KAIN head through the streets of Paris. CAPTAIN RAY detects the rambunctium M'KAIN is carrying to the drop off point (for DR. CULLEN) and realizes she's been betrayed (at least, I think that's how it went.) She and M'KAIN begin to bicker as they climb the tower and the monkey zombie parisians begin to surge after them.
We work back to the scene where CAPTAIN RAY is knocked off the observation deck and M'KAIN dives after her. M'KAIN uses his jet pack to save CAPTAIN RAY, but it's only for short bursts and they end up on the ground, surrounded by a rain of leaping, screaming zombie monkey left bankers. With some gunplay, elbow grease and ingenuity, the two make their way back up to the top of the tower, where they start to disconnect the weird device up there.
About this time, DR. CULLEN realizes that the device is AI's memory bank, her brain and core personality, if you will, and that AI must be an artificial intelligence posing as an animated japanese schoolgirl. MR. BLACK orders AI dismantled for study and DR. CULLEN has an attack of conscience. Remembering his son, he orders that AI be preserved (shocking CAPTAIN RAY and M'KAIN who have only seen AI as an enigmatic threat so far.)
Some device gets activated which knocks out the monkey men, MR. BLACK escapes and BROTHER NARAT shows up in the Chaucer II to rescue CAPTAIN RAY and M'KAIN. Back at Killamanjaro base, ALBA, M'KAIN and CAPTAIN RAY get into a heated argument about another failed mission.
CAPTAIN RAY discovers that ALBA thinks M'KAIN is no good for her and she puts him in his place, saying she's proud of protecting her crew and confused as to why ALBA, as an old friend, wouldn't protect her.
As the show ends, we see DR. CULLEN sitting at a cafe, surrounded by stunned zombie monkey guys, and mulling over the fate to which he has sealed his son.
Yep. That's pretty much what happened, except for the bits I accidentally left out.
