SUPPORTING CAST
- AMBASSADOR HOOT KOOMI
Martian Ambassador and Professor-in-Residence at Miskatonic U.
Inclusion Notes: HOOT can be used as a general addition to any scene.
He should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
HOOT used to be the high priest of the Cthonic Sxorj cult, but the agressive white ape people of the hills took over when human embassies opened in the canal cities. He just oozes hero-worship for COOP and considers his own time on Earth a jolly adventure.
- OFFICER PAT O'HARA
Stereotypical Irish beat cop with a not-so-secret love of explosive violence
Inclusion Notes: OFFICER PAT can be included in any scene
He should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
OFFICER PAT talks and dresses like a stereotypical Irish flatfoot of the era, but he has a bizarre fixation on extreme acts of violence which seems out of place with his otherwise loving and paternal attitude to the rest of mankind as a whole. He loathes Martians and usually shows up in the scene accompanied by some of his "boys," glorified red-shirts in police uniforms.
- HORTENSE "FLUFFY" PEMBERTON
Stylish young co-ed and social butterfly
Inclusion Notes: FLUFFY can be included in any scene
She should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
FLUFFY speaks with the voice of the majority. Whatever she says is usually what the general population of Miskatonic University and the rest of New England thinks. In some cases, she's also the spokesperson for Earth in general, although she does so with a sort of brainless aplomb. She is attractive, but not as cute as she acts and seems to have a thing for horses or other riding animals. She thinks COOP is fascinating, BRUMMAGE is dull, STARLA is mysterious and IVAN is a dangerous lunatic that someone else should deal with, first.
- DOCTOR LEOPOLD
Mad Genius Astronomer
Inclusion Notes: DR. LEE can be used as a general addition to any scene.
He should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
Driven mad by strange revelations from the stars, DR. LEE now shuffles about his observatory making disturbing charts and hinting at horrible truths in the vast, inky void of space. He is quite fond of his old colleague, PROFESSOR BRUMMAGE, and quite willing to help. He practically worships STARLA for some reason and worries IVAN will break something. He has a bit of a blind spot where COOP is concerned, forgetting the man's existence almost immediately.
- BARATA
Chief of the Dinosaur People of Venus
Inclusion Notes: BARATA can be used as a general addition to any scene.
He should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
BARATA lives on Venus, which is populated with swamps and dinosaurs (of course!) It's a primitive existence, but BARATA likes it just fine. He serves as a guide to PROFESSOR BRUMMAGE and COOP, considers STARLA some sort of witch to be respected and admires IVAN's fighting skills. For some reason, he likes hanging homespun nets everywhere, even if they don't get used.
- MUGSY BANKS
Two-Bit Thug who Aspires to be Half-Dollar Thug
Inclusion Notes: MUGSY can be used as a general addition to any scene.
He should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
MUGSY would like some respect but lacks any and all ability to generate any, except behind a tommy-gun. If there's a shadow scheme or that needs stupid laborers, MUGSY usually helps supply the manpower. If he shows up, he always has a couple extremely stupid and extremely large (not neccessarily muscular) dockworkers in tow. MUGSY likes BRUMMAGE for no discernable reason and trusts COOP implicitly. He has some sore feelings toward IVAN and knows that STARLA probably owes a favor or two to the wrong kind of people.
- DIANE JARVIS
Snoopy reporter dame
Inclusion Notes: DIANE can be used as a general addition to any scene.
She should not be used in more than two episodes in a row!
Not tough enough to be Lois Lane and not smart enough to be Brenda Starr, DIANE has an unfortunate need to follow COOP and BRUMMAGE around for stories. She openly admires STARLA and has something of a crush on IVAN, although he couldn't care less. She exists mostly to get herself or the other travellers into trouble. She's a little portly and a little clumsy.
- HEINRICH VON GROBBLE
German/Prussian Fencing Master and Agent of Heidelberg
Inclusion Notes: HEINRICH is IVAN's nemesis
HEINRICH isn't really a Nazi, not at heart. He wants to purge their influence from his beloved Heidelberg and dominate the world with science, not paranormal. However, his loyalty to the University of Heidelberg is paramont and, if the university says "Heil Hitler," so will HEINRICH. Although HEINRICH burns with hatred for what the Nazis are doing to Germany, he hates IVAN and the upper classes somewhat more.
- AGENT SMYTHE, O.S.S.
All-American G-Man chained to his desk by a cruel bureaucracy
Inclusion Notes: SMYTHE acts as a mentor and advisor to COOP
AGENT SMYTHE admires COOP as a good man and a field agent, but he fears that COOP "goes native" a little too easily. SMYTHE often refers to "The Grey Lotus Incident," which, in his eyes, is COOP's greatest failure. SMYTHE has shown open distrust to IVAN and may know about MISS STARLA's opium habit, but he hasn't let on just yet.
- JERMYNA THORAX, APE PRINCESS
High Priestess of the Cthonic Sxorj and sworn enemy of all mankind... she thinks
Inclusion Notes: JERMYNA is the love interest for PROFESSOR BRUMMAGE
A beautiful, spirited and somewhat blood-thirsty "albino" (she's actually quite tan, but has fringes of shocking white hair) from the uplands of Mars, JERMYNA beleives that the solar system should die, rather than fall into the hands of the Earthlings. She's ready to summon any dark godling from beyond space and time, plant any bomb or launch any raid to do this. Unfortunately, she's destined to develop strong feelings for PROFESSOR BRUMMAGE during her captivity on Earth (she gets captured in the first episode so she can say dark things about coming Aeons and the Outer Ones and spout other cryptic, eerie hints.)
- AUNT ANASTASIA
Russian Noblewoman in Exile who wants her Nephew To Come Home
Inclusion Notes: AUNT ANASTASIA is IVAN's meddling relative from Paris
AUNT ANASTASIA mostly exists in the series to reveal IVAN's aristocratic blood and to frequently get in the way of his lust for adventure. She dislikes his galavanting about and wants him to settle down and marry into a good family. She takes little notice of COOP or BRUMMAGE but there's something about STARLA that fascinates her, even though they're on opposite sides of the class struggle.
- ALDOUS GILLMAN
Skirt-Chasing Academic slowly beginning to transform into a frog-monster
Inclusion Notes: ALDOUS exists to counterpoint BRUMMAGE's fumbling loneliness
ALDOUS likes his old pal, BRUMMAGE, a lot but worries that the young professor needs to spread his "wild oats" just a little bit. He thinks COOP and IVAN are tops and openly lusts after STARLA, seemingly unaware of how vile he acts. ALDOUS doesn't realize that he has inherited certain genes from his ancestors that are slowly turning him into an ocean-dwelling frog creature, a throwback similar to the creature from the black lagoon. This may put something of a crimp in his style, then again, he might find a unique solution to his deteriorating looks. Either way, it may spell trouble for BRUMMAGE and his friends.
- HORRENDOUS WILLIAM
Owner of a local pawn shop with weird secrets for sale
Inclusion Notes: HORRENDOUS shows up to bring STARLA's self destruction out in the open
Although he helps supply her with opium, HORRENDOUS has a soft spot for STARLA and wants to see her survive this rough period. It's possible he may also have psychic powers. It's also possible he may be a grave-robbing ghoul and he certainly looks creepy enough to fit the part. He sells very disturbing things in his pawn shop, not just drugs.
