You probably won't find Little Mountain on any tourist map. It's a well kept secret or maybe the powers that be just don't consider it worth mentioning, but I beg to differ.
Little Mountain can be found by following a foot path at the end of the Golf Course Road in L'Anse. The walk to the scenic overlook is about a mile through the woods. Please don't take grandpa with his cane or grandma in her wheelchair. They will need to sit this one out.
Judging by the lack of tracks (all I saw were deer tracks), not too many people visit this little know area. The trail is marked, but due to lack of heavy traffic, it may be a bit overgrown with grass and brush.
When you find "Little" Mountain you will know why it got its name, Little Hill might be more appropriate. When you reach the summit you will discover a spectular view of Keweenaw Bay far below. It is well worth the climb.
