A
detailed Evaluation of the Chaplaincy Service was presented to the group with
recommendations being read as follows. (Anyone wanting a copy of the full report
can get one from the Clerk upon request).
The
face of health care is changing in New Brunswick and we want to be in a position
to make any adjustments that may be necessary by putting a process I place to
evaluate the Chaplaincy Service on a regular basis by:
1.
Completing an informal review
of the service a minimum of three (3) times a year with the Chaplain and at
least two (2) members of the association who represent the Commission/Team
responsible for this service.
2.
In addition to an annual
Chaplain's Report, an independent report from the Commission/Team representing
this service be submitted to the Association at least once a year.
3.
The Chaplain be provided with
a detailed map of New Brunswick showing all the small villages so he can make a
reasonable estimate of the number of patients visited by county.
4.
We also recommend an immediate
increase in the Chaplains remuneration of $25.00 per week, bringing the annual
cost to the Association to $6,200.00 from 5,000.00.
This rate should be evaluated annually taking into consideration any
increases in patients visited, travel costs and pay rates for similar
positions/services
