EXECUTIVE MEETING MINUTES.
GRACE MEMORIAL BAPTIST CHURCH
March 13, 2003
Present:
Harry Waugh, Eugene Morell, Larry Matthews, Sonny Urquhart, Claudia Tucker,
Jerry Horsman, Russ Crosby.
Regrets;
Karl Csaszar, Don Duval.
The
meeting opened with a Devotional given by Sonny Urqhuart and Larry Matthews.
Minutes
were read and adopted as corrected.
BUSINESS
ARISING
Fall Association Celebration:
Dates of October 25 &26 have been adopted. Moved Eugene Morell.
Seconded Larry Matthews.
Association Structure and Teams:
Steve Drost has been recommended for both the Ministry and Fellowship
teams. Larry Mathews will clarify
Steve’s commitment and
participation.
Constitution:
A draft of the new constitution must be presented at the Spring 2004
Association Celebration to be adopted in the Fall. Harry Waugh suggested that business for the Association
Celebration meetings be limited to ratification of Constitution issues and an Annual Report .
All Business is to be carried out at the Executive level.
Spring Association Celebration:
Meetings will be held at Greenwood Drive Baptist Church April 26 and 27,
2003. The program was discussed in detail.
Russ Crosby will prepare and circulate a formal announcement to all
association churches. Dr. Gardner
will speak on “Change” for 30 minutes on Sunday.
It has been suggested that the offering be designated for a Mission
Project. “Vehicle for the
Bannisters” or “Green Hill Lake Camp” have been suggested.
Council Meeting: The
first council meeting under the new structure will be held on March 27, 2003 at
Second Kingsclear Church at 7:30pm. Russ
Crosby is preparing the agenda. The
following issues for structuring council meetings were discussed:
- Team meetings
between council meetings will facilitate the productivity of council meetings.

The
meeting time of 7:30 to 9:00 must be respected and team leaders are encouraged
to ask their members to bring coffee etc. to team breakouts to ensure enough
time for business.

recommendations for Association Celebrations to council.
