The Country's top Sea Cadet visited T.S. York to say farewell before his retirement in the summer of 2004. Commodore Roger Parker was VIP guest at a special passing out parade. The Lord Mayor of York, Coun. Charles Hall, also attended the Parade

HMS Ark Royal

York Sea Cadets Visit London in Aircraft Carrier HMS Ark Royal.
Around 60 members of the Sea Cadet Corps (including cadets from T.S. York) will arrive in Greenwich on board the 20,000 tonne warship this afternoon to mark the start of a two year campaign to promote the organisation for 10 to 18-year-olds.

Eastern Area 2003 Swimming Winners. York picked up 5 Gold medals and four 2nd places helping North and East Yorkshire District win the Area District trophy.

PO Cadet Kristin Bryson received her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award from Prince Philip at St James Palace. With her was the Officer in charge Sub Lieutenant Caroline Meek, who was one of the staff nominated to marshal at the event.

PO Cadet  Steve Brown

PO Cadet Steve Brown is the Lord Lieutenants Cadet of North Yorkshire (Lord Crathorne) from September 2003. This is a great honour and comes just after he won the Eastern Area Sea Cadet band Competition as the best Solo Drummer. He also wrote the piece of music (Bon Espoir) for the Philip Thompson Memeorial trophy which WON beating the National champions Harrogate in the process. He played a leading part in the York Band which won the Contest class of the competition.

PO Cadet Bryson after competing with Sea Cadets from all over the country was selected as the top Sea Cadet in the UK. She won a six week trip to South Africa to represent the UK Sea Cadets.14 May 03

4 York cadets that saved a drowning man, received the Commodores Commendation at a passing out parade. The man was seen being dragged out and under near the newly built Millennium bridge. He was rescued by the cadets who were in the units Viking power boat. Once out, the man refused to give his name or go to hospital and was put ashore met by his sister.
