YORKTOWN BAPTIST CHURCH has a vibrant Youth Program. Our youth are a diversified group, coming to us from different cities, counties and schools. Despite the differences, they unite through their shared love of Christ. The youth Sunday School class is taught by Cynthia and Scott. Cynthia and Scott are dedicated to the spiritual accomplishments and experiences of our youth and provide a Sunday School class solely for their expressions of faith. Cynthia is also our Music Director. The youth support their church community by participating in the music program by playing in or singing with the youth praise band, organized and directed by Cynthia. They also participate in choir programs and hand bell choir performances both in the church and out in the community. In addition to teaching the Sunday School class, Scott is always finding ways to enlist the youth in projects that support their local community. The YBC youth are not restricted by the walls of the church. They know that it is important for others to see Christ working in and through our youth. They have gone outside the confines of the church to help shut-ins with yard cleanup and visited them for Christmas caroling. Two of their regular ministries are volunteering at the Peninsula Rescue Mission and Virginia Peninsula Food Bank. The annual Peninsula Food Drive is always a fun and rewarding time. Recreation as a group usually follows a community service project with activities like ice skating, bowling, volleyball, and go carting. Scott and Cynthia ensure our youth are spiritually grounded and know the meaning of God’s love and grace. The Sunday School starts at 9:30 a.m. and we’d love to have you join us.
