Cemetery of Lost Souls - Banished Sun
A small scattering of tombs and graves are present in this ash strewn graveyard. The sense of dread that filled you upon entering this gothic resting place only deepens. Stone angels and gargoyles stare down at you from atop crypts, some raising their hands to the heavens, all carved in the midst of demonic screams of agony.
Few trees are present here though flowers have started to bloom from the ground. Some of these plants are immediately recognizable such as forget-me-nots, lillies and ivy while others are unlike any seen in this Shadow or most others for that matter such as the rare necrosis mortems.

First conceived in 1992 as more of an extension to MagiTech, little more than an occult gift shop, Banished Sun has grown to be a home to dozens of PCs. Originally MagiTech opened out into London in this Earthlike shadow and when it went out of business, the new focus of The Sun, as it is known in common shadow parlance, became The Gideon Club, a private organization still apparently active to this very day. Later the small of town of Elbridge was 'found' to have connectionsto several different shadows including the now-defunct Hall of Mirrors though a haunted carnival.
In 1996, a
ll shadow paths to London were closed though new ones in Dover were soon discovered. The flow of history also changed so that the Gideon Club, once a posh if reputedly deviantly hedonistic club, was now little more than a haunted mansion beyond the cemetery of Elbridge. And oddly enough, according to the few natives who still know about it, it had always been that way despite the 'truth' known by those who walked Shadow. Threat of the cult of the Darkwheel brought supernatural investigators to Elbridge later that year. And a year after that came the resurgence of the Cthulhu worshippers called Tandrai.
Finally, after The Sun was without power for several days due to unknown circumstances, things have gotten back to 'normal'. Currently, Banished Sun is a shadow with the same basic continents, governments and personalities as modern day Shadow Earth. However beneath this, every urban myth is true. Even the contradictory ones. The Hook stalks victims on desolate country roads. Governments cover up the truth of extraterrestrial life. All internet traffic is being monitored by a monolithic organization waiting to descend on 'wrongthinkers'. Etc.

Aside from word of mouth, the most common way news from The Sun travels out of Shadow is through its newspapers that seem distributed far and wide. There are three papers in particular that tell different views of the truth, as well as it can be determined in this veritable home of urban legends. Though BSunBldr does a large percentage of the bulletin board posting of the news that escapes The Sun, you are welcome to either send the builder news of your activities here to dissemenate or request permission to +bbpost it yourself. In fact the builder encourages it.

The Sun is home to many and base
of operations for even more. Its clock runs roughly the same as that within the World's End Bar and all Powers function as normal making it suitable for any sort to wander in and out. Though its POLE is 1, right next door to Chaos, the Shadow is regarded by all as generally neutral territory its only obvious 'ruler' being a movie producer by the name of Stone. Thus The Sun is infected with Royalty from both Amber and Chaos as well as numerous Shadows from everywhere in between.
This shadow has been home to a score or more of PCs and is always open to more natives. In addition, the Royalty of both poles has been known to sequester their young here, perhaps to acclimate them to the oddness that will eventually dominate their lives. So newly minted Lords and Ladies may find The Sun an appropriate Shadow of their youth. Finally experienced characters tend to find this Shadow either a fine vacation spot, a nice place to plot and scheme unmolested, or perhaps a bit of both. Who is Mr. Stone and why does he deserve an entry here? According to the nativepopulace, he, along with his rarely seen partner Damen (Yes he just has one name like Madonna) are movie producers of such notable films as The Mesmerizing Maids of Mars and Biker Babes from Planet DD. However to those from outside The Sun, it is considered common knowledge that he has a hand in the running of the entire Shadow. And in particular keeps a careful eye on intershadow traffic. In other words, it is indeed possible that you can avoid his notice if you have holdings or do business in The Sun, however if you are caught be prepared for any consequences that might result.

On numerous occasions one force or another has attempted to commit large scale harm on the docile folk of The Sun. And each time the force in question was defeated in such a manner that the general populace remained unaware of their narrowly escaped doom. Why is this? Firsty, the major governments of the world are experts in obfuscation of the truth. With excuses ranging from swamp gas to mass hysteria, they explain away all things not consistant with a banal twentieth century existance while at the same time eradicating the offending phenomena.
Secondly, The Sun has become home to perhaps a dozen or so possessors of True Powers of all sorts who do not take kindly to interlopers destroying their property. So any large scale assault will possibly be dealt with by one or more of them as well as by the more than competant local authorities. The upper echelon of these locals have also been briefed on the Truth of Infinite Shadow and are dedicated to assuring this Truth does not get out to the local populace who have been determined to have no reason to know of Amber, the Courts, or anything remotedly related to either.
The prop controller of The Sun has always welcomed plots, be they major or minor, that might take place here. As the Shadow has always been home for the odd and bizarre, no plot is too strange or upsetting. However anyone wishing to commit any actions here should keep in mind who might be watching. A brawl on the street between armored men and demons will likely be cleaned up and hushed up afterwards. The dropping of nuclear weapons on New York, however, will probably be stopped before it can occur with the guilty party being tossed into the Abyss soon after.

No psychic ability or power can be augmented, enhanced, or otherwise be affected through technological or sorcerous means. However all raw telepathy still functions normally.
