World's End bar...
Damen appears, the sound of growling dogs
disappears behind him.
Yosannah spins in her stool to regard
Damen, "Hiya! I've been waiting a whole three minutes for you to get
here."
Damen quirks an eyebrow up, regarding
Riva "As I thought....put a basilisk in a dress....it's still a
basilisk."
Yosannah chuckles.
Damen blows Yosannah a kiss. "Then I'm
early." He heads towards the bar.
Scott materalizes in the middle of the room. He slips his card inside his overcoat and strides towards the bar.
Riva nods to Damen and rises.
Yosannah reaches out to catch Damen's 'kiss'. She bats her eyelashes at him, toying. She turns to glances at Riva, "Leaving so soon?"
Damen smirks, "Puh-lease." He looks to
Riva. "Not leaving because of my witty reportie, I hope?" Damen sits
down at the bar.
Yosannah rolls her eyes at Damen, "Witty?
Is that what that was?"
Scott sits down at the bar.
Riva arches an eyebrow at Damen. "Nah, I
got someone chained down in my basement, thought I'd go interrogate
'em."
Yosannah looks past Damen at the man that has just joined them at the bar. She raises a brow and smiles before turning back to the conversation at hand.
Scott orders a glass of Mountain Dew. The bartender pushes it across the bar and it slides to a stop in front of him.
Damen says "I knew you were kinky, Riva.
I just knew it."
Yosannah nods in agreement. Riva splits a
wolfish grin at Damen in answer as she fishes out a trump.
Yosannah mumbles as she spins back toward
the bar, "... weirdo..."
Scott idly runs a hand through his hair as he takes a sip of his soda. A nod goes to Damen and Yosannah.
Riva moves forward and vanishes, leaving behind a rapidly fading afterimage.
Damen says "What's new, Yo?"
Yosannah grins as she pauses mid-sip, "You mean since I left you last night?" She winks. "Nothing."
Damen smirks, "Let's get this straight.
*I* left *you*."
Yosannah places her tea down on the bar,
"No, no. I distinctly recall..." She glances at the company, "But,
really now. We needn't discuss that here."
Scott smirks slightly, but hides in the glass of his soda.
Damen quirks an eyebrow up. "Really? I wasn't aware there was anyone else here." He flashes a muted smile at Scott, "No offense, of course."
Scott replies. "Of course."
Yosannah tisks, "Damen... so rude." She then rolls her eyes.
Damen says "You're shocked? How many
years have we been married? Oh wait...we're not."
Yosannah nods, "Yeah. Yeah. We're not."
She motions for the bartender, "Can I get some honey here, please?"
Damen orders a beer, "We should change
that." He pauses, "Honey?"
Yosannah points at her tea, "Yeah.
Honey."
The bartender places the honey before her and she tips the bottle over her drink. She doesn't notice that the item remains capped. "Listen, I don't want to get into that."
Damen nods, "Fair enough. Just so that
you show up."
Yosannah shakes her head and looks to the
ceiling, "Whatever..." She shakes the bottle, "What the..."
Damen says "The cap, Yo."
"Hu?" She looks, "Oh." Removing the cap,
"It's kinda hard to take you seriously. In fact, I'm not even going
to take you seriously. It's beyond my ability to do so at this
point."
Damen nods, "So I'll get you an
escort...make sure you arrive on time."
Yosannah is slightly amused, "Damen, as
far as I'm concerned, I have as much chance of marrying you as that
guy sitting down there at the other end of the bar" She points at
Scott.
Damen rubs his jaw thoughtfully. "You
realize of course, in my eyes....those are pretty good odds."
Yosannah offers, "You hear that, Mister?
Damen here thinks you're cute."
Damen adds, "Luckily, I'm not cruis'n for
manmeat." Damen sips his beer. To the casual observer, he would look
calm...collected. But to a mindreader, he'd be thinking...did I just
say 'manmeat'? Scott sips his soda and tries very hard to ignore the
conversation around him.
Damen leans close to her and whispers, "And why do I have a feeling you have a story to tell me in regards to him?"
Yosannah mutters as she shakes her head, "Not at all. I don't even know him."
Scott comments. "Oh, I heard you. I just wasn't listening." He sips more soda.
Damen chuckles, "Touche."
Yosannah seems about to respond to Scott's comment but reconsiders and shakes her head instead. She sips her tea, makes a face, and adds more honey, "Anyway..."
Damen nods, "Yeah." He sips his beer.
Yosannah drums her fingers on the bartop, "Are you making serious plans or something. About this whole thing? 'Cause I'll be really ticked off if you're just bait'n me again."
Damen bats his eyelashes, "But sweetheart...you don't take me seriously. How can I honestly answer that?"
Yosannah considers, "good point."
Scott finishes his soda. And pushes away from the bar. He shakes his head slowly as he glances from Yosannah to Damen.
After a moment she asks, "Yeah, so, like have you seen Ryker lately?"
Damen shakes his head, "I haven't....no. You? You two seem to have a love/hate thing going on."
Yosannah nods, "Yeah, kinda like I have with most of the men in my life. Why is that, do you think?"
Scott stays his toungue and slips out a card. He moves forward and vanishes, leaving behind a rapidly fading afterimage.
Damen regards Yosannah, but makes no comment.
"Well, except you, darling. Naturally."
Damen smirks, "Naturally." He regards the area where Scott disappeared. "So I'm just being paranoid?"
"Paranoid? About what?"
Damen shakes his head, "Nevermind."
"No, what?"
Damen motions toward the area where Scott was, "I had the feeling that you two were sharing some secret. From the moment he trumped in." Damen smiles, "But obviously, I'm wrong."
Yosannah frowns, "Yeah. I'd say so. He was cute though. Probably nothing between the ears I bet."
Damen chuckles softly, "Looks can be decieving. You started dating me."
"You're making many good points this evening. So smart."
Damen hehs and sips his beer.
"Anyway, I ask about Ryker 'cause he was gonna help me out... or, at least I thought he was. He was gonna help me find a shadow that I uh.. can't find."
Damen says "Which one and why?"
"It's a horsemen shadow. I think." She nods, "And because I'm looking for something that my alter-ego put there."
Damen smiles, leanign in to lay a light kiss on your cheek. "Do I have to ask you what or are you going to tell me?"
"Do you recall the amulet that Merlin gave me?"
Damen frowns faintly, "I do."
"I want it back. I think it's there." She smiles, "Wherever 'there' is."
Damen says "What shadow?"
Yosannah Shrugs, "I don't know. I only have vague memories of it. Though," She chuckles, "They aren't really my memories and so they are a little hazy. And that's the rub, isn't it."
Damen nods, "Apparently." He sips his drink, "And how is Ryker supposed to help you?"
"I'm not sure. He seems to think he might be able to find it. I don't know how these things work, I'm not a shadow walker like you guys are..."
Ophelia appears suddenly.
Yosannah lowers her voices as Ophelia arrives, "Anyway..."
Ophelia hesitates a few steps from the bar, watching Yosannah. She changes direction, picking another seat than the stool she started out towards.
Damen nods, thoughtful, "Why didn't you come to me first?"
"Well, it's not like I went seeking his help. He was spying on a conversation I was having with Selene. He approached me about it."
Damen says "And it didn't bother you that he was spying on you?"
Yosannah laughs, "Of course it did. A little. But I'm used to you all being able to do that. I think I was a little mad at him at first, but what am I supposed to do about it? I got over it."
"Slap him and tell him to mind his own business?"
"I save that sort of thing for you"
"Nice."
"You're welcome. Anyway, it's late. Maybe you can talk to him for me. See what he had in mind and let me know what you think. Sound good?" She pushes her empty tea mug away and stretches casually.
Damen shrugs, "If you want me to."
"Well, if it's not that important to you. You seemed all worked up about it a minute ago. Christ."
Damen says "This might be an after thought."
"What might be an after-thought? I'm telling you now because I want your opinion. Like I said, HE came to ME. Not the other way around. Jesus."
Damen nods, "Then I'll talk to him."
