Knight's Concourse, Chaos...
Nikolaos takes a look over the concourse
as he walks along it. He lifts a burly arm and tips his hat to
Yosannah as he walks past.
Yosannah lifts a hand as Nikolaos moves
past, "Uh.. excuse me, sir?"
Nikolaos stops short and turns,
resettling his fedora on his head. "Yes, miss?" He asks, turning his
attention over her curiously.
Yosannah shifts her weight to her left
foot, "I uh.. sorry to disturb you, but I was wondering if you could
give me a hand."
Nikolaos leans off on that side as well,
though the motion is more subconscious. "Well, how can I help?"
Yosannah places a hand on her hip and
runs her free hand through her hair, "I'm visiting and, that is, I
haven't been 'in town' in quite some time... I'm looking for house
Sawall. Do you know where that is?"
Nikolaos's eyes lift up to the hand in
your hair, though he's just as much in thought as well. "Yeah,
actually I think I do," he rumbles, then explains, "I've spent some
time away also, but I think Sawall's gate is near Jesamine's, where I
am. Wouldn't hurt to check at least.
Yosannah smiles, "Could you show me? If
it's not too much trouble."
Nikolaos nods, and he gestures back to
the south. "Sure, we can head this way, miss."
Yosannah smiles and follows, "So, you're
from the Courts?"
Nikolaos shakes his head while he walks,
first into the plaza and then out again towards the Grand Avenue.
"Yeah and no. I'm from one of Jesamine's vassal families." He turns
his body slightly, so he can offer a hand across. "Name's Niko
Guerri."
Yosannah reaches for his hand, "Yosannah.
But just Yo, please."
Nikolaos smiles then and nods, giving the
hand a squeeze. "Good to meet you, Yo." He looks up then and points
ahead, "Not far now."
She glances about the plaza, vague
recognition on her face, "My goodness, is that Niemands? I had
forgotten how lovely this place is."
Nikolaos nods again, slowing to look more
over the landscaping. "Yeah, it is pretty amazing. "
"I'm sorry, which house did you say
you're from?" Nikolaos pivots, pointing out the Jesamine gate.
"Jesamine, over there. Not a family member, but one of their
vassals."
Yosannah chuckles, "One of their vassals,
hu? The Chaosian house system has always been rather confusing for
me."
Nikolaos chuckles too. "I'm not
blood-related, just a soldier for another way of putting it."
"I see."
Nikolaos tilts his head lightly, "That's
a better explanation, I hope."
Yosannah pauses and looks around the
courtyard, "So..?"
Nikolaos blinks, then colors lightly.
"Oh. Sawall. Yes."
Yosannah chuckles.
Nikolaos points out one of the gates, "I
think it's that one, there."
She holds out her hand, "Well, thank you.
I appreciate your time."
Nikolaos takes Yosannah's hand and says,
"You're quite welcome. Serpent guard."
"Thank you." She releases Nikolaos' hand
and moves toward the Sawall gate.
Nikolaos steps back, waiting for a moment
to see Yosannah go through the gate. Then he walks off himself.

A letter left for Merle Corey:
Merle,
Stopped by hoping to catch up with you. I
heard you were 'back in town' and thought I might catch you here. My
trump to the Berkeley apartment still seems to be working, but it
doesn't look like you're spending any time there either. Drop me a
line at the Inn. Here's a trump to Elbridge in case you no longer
have one.
Y.
