Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main

World's End...

Riva says "Metropolis. I need to get there."

Damen seems remotely disinterested in the conversation, instead turning his attention to Yosannah's fries.

Yosannah reaches into her pocket, pulls out a case of trumps and and thumbs through the cards, "What for?"

Riva says "I have some things I need to check out."

Yosannah mumbles, "Guess i don't have one..." She turns to Riva, "You like being vague?"

Riva says "It's part of my job description. Avim doesn't even know where I go or what I do."

Damen whispers "Find out what she wants...I can get her there." He shrugs nonchalantly before stealing another fry.

Yosannah glances at Damen out of t he corner of her eye. "Riva, people can't help you if you're all secretive." Yosannah wiggles her fingers. Perhaps to demonstrate, 'secretive' .

Riva says "This isn't therapy, it's a ride. Truth is I don't know. I'll be told in more detail when I get there. It's not my place to ask questions. I do what I'm told."

"Well, who told you to go there?" Yosannah smirks at Damen.

Riva looks at Damen. "My employer." she asks simply, before doubling over in another fit of violent coughs

Damen nods, "Nevermind Yo..my invitation just got revoked." His attention moves back to his coffee. He reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a pen. He begins to doodle on a beverage napkin.

Yosannah tries to catch a glimps at what he's writing.

Damen says "So...my father asked about you."

Yo smiles.

Riva looks mildly frustrated but says nothing. "Fine. Either one of you business pokers tell me who else I can talk to about a way there?

Yosannah smiles at Damen's words and his drawing before turning back towards Riva for a brief secone, "nope."

Damen offers, "A travel agent?"

Yosannah points at the picture, "What the heck is that?"

Riva glares at the both of them, then opens up a trump deck and thumbs through it.

Damen gestures, "Stone....after shapeshifting."

Yosannah laughs.

Riva freezes.

Yosannah continues with the conversation, "A hamster. Can we do that to him sometime?"

Damen says "So he stated he was mildly disappointed that I wasn't marrying politically....but he gave his blessings nonetheless."

Yo smiles, "You're changing the topic.."

Riva pauses then grumbles irritably and snaps the case. "You know Stone?" she asks wearily.

Damen peers at Yosannah, after noting Riva's reaction, "You're sure you're not royalty, right?"

Damen nods to Riva, "Business partner."

Yo adds, "Fling" She smirks, "Why?"

Riva tilts her head. "He seems to have a lot of those. He was the employer I spoke of. The freaking idiot who sends me someplace without an actual way to get there." she downs another shot of whiskey, and gestures for more.

Damen laughs, "Sounds like Stone."

Yosannah says "Wait wait wait. He told you to go to Met and he didn't give you a trump. The boy is there all the time. THAT sounds like him." And then, "Oh, and as far as 'flings' go... he was one of mine, not the other way around."

Riva says "Yeah. Bastard. " she grumbles. "Maybe I should just quit....nah."

Damen raises an eyebrow up.

Yosannah shakes her head and turns to Damen, "How does he get people to do that?"

Damen says "What the hell are you talking about? You were involved with him. He makes promises to them he can't keep....keeps them in the dark... pretends to be something he's not. Gullible people fall for it." Damen shrugs.

Riva snorts and reaches for another shot of whiskey, this being her fourth.

Yosannah nods at Damen, "You have a point there. Why does it never stop surprising me then?"

Damen smirks but makes no comment on that.

Riva considers a moment, expression deeply annoyed despite the lack of a target. She gestures for more Whiskey, turning her head and coughing more.

Yosannah turns to Riva, "Here's what I'd suggest, knowing Stone the way we do and all... Tell him to stick his little task for you up his ass." She nods and shoves a fry into her mouth.

Damen smirks over his coffee mug. "What's he offering you? Or are you really just that bored?"

Riva says "I don't really care. He promises me nothing, and I see him only when I want something to do. I'm just that bored. After I screwed up my employment with Dalt, no one would hire me. Now the market has turned belly-up. Stone's the only one offering me work, even if it's nothing, and even though he assumes I must have the logrus or something."

Yosannah laughs and shakes her head. "You know what, Riva. I can get you hooked up with Dalt again if that's what you want." She smirks at Damen.

Damen raises an eyebrow. "You know where he is?"

"I've heard talk that he's thinking of poking his head back into things."

Riva snorts. "No, you can't. I bet you Dalt wouldn't even consider it, unless there was something like... oh...absolute rule or something." more whiskey is consumed.

Damen shrugs. "Not my problem."

Riva says "I pretty much burned the bridge. You're welcome to try though. Hell, might be worth shits and giggles."

Yosannah shrugs. "It's better than hanging out running errands for s Shadow-rat like Stoner. " She shoves another fry into her mouth.

Riva says "Aside, Dalt lost the need for a bodyguard when he became king of begma. not that he ever needed one to begin with. If you can pull it off, I will have to dub it a miracle. I think I could put a dent in Dalt now. or at lest hold him off long enough to escape.

Damen smirks, "Shadows aren't all that bad....I'm marrying one after all."

Yosannah shrugs and turns to Damen, "While we're on the topic. That's what your dad said? I'd do?"

Damen grins, "Bottom line...we have his blessing."

Yosannah seems skeptical, "We do? I didn't know we needed it in the first place?"

Riva says "Congrads, by the way."

Damen leans over and plants a light kiss on Yo's lips. "We do...and we didn't."

Riva reaches for her sixth whiskey. Yosannah places her fingertips over her own lips, "Thanks Riv."

Yo smiles "So..." she nudges Damen.

Damen smiles, "What?"

"Is that all you two talked about? And what's that mean? We do and we didn't?"

Damen smirks, "We -do- have his blessing and no, we -didn't- need it."

Yosannah asks, "Is that why YOU went there, D? To get his blessing?"

Riva slumps forward, coughing a bit more.

Yosannah glances at Riva, not to appearing too concerned.

Damen shakes his head. "Not at all. Stopped by to welcome him home."

"Kissing ass then."

Damen laughs, "Why would I have to kiss my father's ass?"

"I don't even need to answer that. You know why."

Damen raises an eyebrow. "Whatever."

Riva flicks the shot-glasses off the bar and into the floor, letting them shatter. One, by one. She seems pretty oblivious to anyone elses presence at the moment.

Yosannah flinches at the glass breaks.

Damen snorts, "Great. Another drama-queen thorazine candidate."

Yosannah leans toward Damen, "...maybe we should take her home or something."

Damen glances at Yosannah. "Or we could just leave her here."

Riva says "How 'bout save you the thought."

Yosannah eyes Damen, "Riv, let us take you somewhere."

Damen pushes away from the bar and leans back against it, crossing his arms. He waits for Yosannah, content to follow her lead.

Riva hefts up her shotgun, and stands shakily. "Got hell to deal with." shakes her head. "I'll be fine. Stopping in here to load up before going back to hell and facing off. Congrads on the wedding to come." she slowly shuffles through her deck, squinting to see the images on the cards.

"Okay, Riv. Whatever you say. Damen, let's get out of here then."

Later at the Kashfan Library...

Yosannah slaps the book closed. A light cloud of dust swooshes out and into her face.

Damen smirks, "Very nice."

Yosannah coughs and waves a hand in front of her face to shoo the dust away, "Funny."

Damen says "I can hear the servants bitching already...sir...there was mucus -everywhere-."

Yosannah rolls her eyes.
