The Desert Rain -- Purple Room...

Yosannah is standing next to the wall, running her hand up and down the wallpaper as if in search of something.

Drusus nods to Yosannah as he walks along.

Yosannah spins abruptly at the sight of Drusus, "Hello." She runs a hand through her tangled hair in effort to smooth it over.

Drusus smiles and says, "Hello."

Baron slips through the parted curtain leading in from the Red Room.

Yosannah bites at her lower lip as she regards Drusus, "I was uh. I..."

Drusus nods over to Baron as he walks in and says, "Hello."

Baron says "Hi."

Yosannah turns her head in Baron's direction, she regards him for a moment - blinking.

Baron smiles around the cigarette. His gaze locks on Yosannah, and he fully enters the room.

Miko slips out of the Madame's office and smiles as she sees people, "Good evening everyone."

Yosannah looks between Drusus and Baron aand exhales. She seems about to say something when Miko enters the room.

Drusus smiles a bit and looks around at everyone looking around. He says, "Good evening to you" to Miko.

Baron calls out, "Yosannah! Is that Yosannah!?" He points.

Miko chirps, "Welcome to the Desert Rain. I don't believe I've seen any of you around before."

Yosannah slumps against the wall and raises a hand to her forehead, "I thought I recognized you... but I wasn't sure if I was going insane or not." To Miko she offers, "I don't think I've ever been here before."

Drusus shakes his head and says to Miko, "I haven't seen any of you."

Baron mentions, "I come by here every now and then." He directs all his attention on Yosannah, "Yes."

Miko smiles and notes, "Well, my name is Miko and let me be the first to welcome you here. If you need anything, please feel free to let us know. The Madame isn't in right now, but I would be glad to act in her stead if you need anything."

Yosannah, seeminly relieved at Baron's presence, regards Miko, "Madame?"

Drusus says "Thank you. Thank you very much."

Miko smiles lightly and nods, "Madame Charlize. She's the owner and curator of this humble establishment. I would be glad to let her know you're here if you like, but it may be some time before she's available."

Baron keeps smoking his cigarette. He listens.

Yosannah glances over at Baron, "What is this place?"

Miko smiles a little, "We like to call it an entertainment complex. Some refer to it as a dance club, other, more crass people call it a brothel."

Yosannah raises her brow, "A whore house? Wonderful."

Baron smiles a bit, pointing at Miko and her answer, "A brothel!" He sets his arms akimbo, and aims one at Yosannah, "Want to get out of here?"

Drusus widens his eyes. "A brothel?" He looks around.

Miko wrinkles her nose, "Well, when you say it like that." She grins a little, "Kinda makes it sound naughty. We're not 'that' naughty. Cept when we are."

Yosannah moves toward Baron and reaches out for his hand, "Can you get me back to Elbridge?"

Baron wrinkles his nose, digging in a cargo pocket. "Mmmm... not sure if I have that one on me."

"I need to get back to The Sun.... What about the Club?"

Baron hmmms, "No, not that one either."

Drusus murmurs. "Dear, dear me. I didn't realize this was a brothel." Drusus gets out some cards from his jacket and says, "I think I must be going as well."

Miko tilts her head and regards Drusus, "What did you think it was?"

Yosannah glances over at Drusus as he reaches for his cards, "I don't suppose you can get us to the Banished Sun?"

Drusus looks between Miko and Yosannah, like a spotlit deer watching a tennis match. "No, not there, Amber I can do. I thought it was a night club."

Baron pipes up, "It's not that bad of a place, man. Good food and company. Lotsa walkers that come through here."

Drusus says "The WEB. I can do the WEB."

Yosannah drops her head with a sigh, "Thanks anyway." After a moment, she turns to Baron again, "What about the Kitchen?"

Baron says "Kitchen I can do." Baron looks through is pockets for the right Trump card, smoking rolling into his eyes.

"Thank God. Kitchen it is then..." She looks over his shoulder at his cards, "Where is it?"

Baron says "By Joey's... and the old building."

Yosannah nods, "Yeah, if any of that is still there."

Hell's Kitchen...

Baron materializes with Yosannah on his arm. He sticks away his Trump, "The Kitchen."

Yosannah drops Baron's hand and glances up at the tops of the buildings, shadowing her eyes from the sun with her hand.

Baron says "This place eats shit."

Yosannah mumbles softly to herself, "... my god... they're gone." To Baron she offers, "you have no idea." She begins to move in the direction of the Church. She turns back to regard Baron, "You gonna stand there or are you come'n?"

Baron follows, but stays quiet. He is still smoking on that first cigarette, which seems to never finish. Together, they enter the ruined Cathedral...

Once a grand catholic Church, this cathedral has been reduced to little more than a military bunker, as well as a refugee shelter. Ragged cloth partitions havebeen erected, bunks set up in one corner. There are no pews, what remains of them likely being used for firewood, makeshift construction, or blokades on the doors and windows.

Baron looks at the surroundings, showing a face of disgust. He is mad.

Yosannah looks about the cathedral as she raises a hand to her brow, "I don't get it." She moves toward one of the partitions and rips it down, "I don't get it!"

Baron says "What."

"We battled here... I don't get it. It was supposed to purify this shadow but nothing's changed. It's exactly as we left it. God damn it all!"

Baron squints, "Battled here? What the fuck happend here anyway? It's been awhile.."

Yosannah nods, "It has been a while, hasn't it." She shakes her head, "We brought apocalypse to this shadow. Kitsune - you remember her don't you? We thought it would restore this place... and ending for a new beginning." She shrugs.

Baron can't help but laugh quick, "Oh. Why not restore this place? It would only take what they call.. money." Baron opens up his hand, and a wad of money appears there.

Yosannah shakes her head, "I know what you mean. If I had anything left in me I'd laugh too. It wasn't really my ... Oh,nevermind. It's not important now."

Baron says "What if I funded the cleanup of the whole place? Take it over again."

Yosannah shrugs, "What we did wasn't just a cleanup, Baron. You're not getting it - but like I said, it doesn't matter." She pauses for a moment, "What do you mean, take it over again."

Baron waves his hand, "I used to own this fucking Shadow, practically. Before it turned to shit."

"Practically is not the same as owning, Baron."

Baron squints, but grins a little, "Whatever you say Yosannah. But whatever /your/ point with fuckin' with this place. I like the location. Is there hope for this place?"

Yosannah shrugs, "That depends from what perspective you are asking from." She stretches her neck to her shoulder as if working out a kink, "Though, If I know you... and I think I do, you want to know if this place will make for a good business move. In that case, I'd say it's a gold mine of sorts."

Baron shakes his head, "Anyway, whatever. There's just something about this place.."

"If you say so. Either way. I need to find the shadow path back to The Sun... I think there's one in the ally. I'm gonna see if I can find it."

"Yeah, there is. Forgot which one."

"You come'n or what are you doing?"

"Ya."

The two head off toward the alley and eventually climb onto the subway - a shadow path to The Banished Sun. Eventually they reach Webber's Wayside Inn...

Webber's Wayside Inn...

Yosannah wanders over to the Inn. She reaches down and lifts up the door mat and fishes out a key.

Baron says "Nice hiding spot."

Yosannah smirks and places the key in the door and pushes her way inside. She tosses the key atop the bar, "You have no idea how long it has been since I've been home." She wanders over to a chair and plops down in it.

Baron takes a seat as well. "Why not?"

"When I got *dropped* off in that shadow you found me in... I must have been unconscious at some point 'cause somone stole my trumps and I don't remember when that could have happened. And I have this injury here," She indicates a rather large gash that runs down her neck.

Baron squints, "Hmm. What happend?"

Yosannah rests her head in her arms on the table, "After the incident at the Kitchen, Pesti... er .. I was weak. One of my companions said he'd take me to a place where I could heal fast." She considers, "So he took me to that shadow you found me in."

Baron says "Is the time faster there? Stone gave me a Trump of that place, for some reason."

"I don't know if it truly is or not." She smiles, "And I hardly doubt that Stone gave you a trump of that place for any other reason then for it's recreational value."

Baron chuckles, "Must be."

"Either way, I owe you one for get'n me back here. Thank you."

"It's nothing."

He asks, "So what's next for Yosannah?"

"I'm not sure. I have to find Damen. He has an artifact that I need back as soon as possible. First things first."

Baron hmms, "Last time I saw him.. was back where I found you, actually. I think. I could try and contact Stone if you would like?"

Yosannah raises a brow, "At the whore house?"

Baron says "Well, it might have been at the World's End, but I'm pretty sure it was there. With Stone."

"How long ago was that?"

"Just a week ago where I've been. It's hard to say."

Yosannah nods, "Well, thanks for the offer regarding Stone, but I have a few duplicate trumps in safe keeping. I should be able to reach them now that I'm home." She mumbles, "... not that Stone is of any use or help anyway..."

Baron hehs, "No shit." He looks at a watch that's not there, "But I should go. Let you rest. Stone knows how to find me if you need anything."
