Gideon Club, Hallway...
Yosannah spots Damen as she makes her way down the stairs.
Damen is quietly contemplating a painting on the wall.
Yosannah runs the remaining way down the stairs, "Damen!"
Damen turns and regards her. "Yo...you've looked better."
Yosannah practically jumps onto him, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Damen quirks an eyebrow up, yet his arms wrap instictively around her as they are forced to lean somewhat heavily against the wall.
Davin appears suddenly.
Yosannah is smooching Damen all about his face, "I can't believe it! I have so much to tell you!" She obviously doesn't notice Davin.
Damen nods, studying her. "Apparently. Last we spoke you were talking about the Apocalypse." Damen takes a moment to regard Davin, as his is a new face, but then his attention moves back to Yosannah.
Davin puts the trump away, trying to edge around the pair on his way to the study, quiet as a mouse.
Yosannah nods, "I know! But that's what you get for taking that collar off of me!" Her eyes open wide, "Have you noticed? No collar." She reaches up to her neck.
Damen nods and reaches up as well, tracing a finger near the gash. "I noticed....and replaced with a rather ugly wound. When's the last time you washed that?"
Yosannah shrugs, "I don't know. I hardly remember it all. But when I started to try and get back... Ugh." She shakes her head, "Somebody stole my trumps, damnit."
Damen nods, frowning faintly. "Let me get you home, Yo....we'll wash you up." He offers her his hand.
"I'm fine, really."
Damen shrugs, "Whatever you want to do....but the walls have ears here."
Yosannah laughs, "Yeah yeah. What I could really use is a drink. How 'bout a drink, and then we can fret over how I look?"
Damen quirks an eyebrow up. "Where?"
"Right here... and then we can go upstairs when we're done," she offers him a wink and makes her way into the study.
Gideon Club, Study....
As Damen and Yosannah enter the study, Nash is sprawled flat out on the couch, an empty vodka bottle on the floor beside him as he informs the boy, "I'm not your librarian."
Yosannah stops abruptly at the entrance to the study, "Oh."
Davin is equally sprawled, but in a chair near the couch, a can of coke in hand. He looks over at the doorway and smiles, "Hi."
Nash props himself up on an elbow, squinting towards the doorway. He stifles a yawn as he says, "Turnings ..."
Damen studies the two lounging in the study. "Which one of you is Stone's new bitch?" Damen turns to watch Yosannah move to the bar, obviously not really caring who answers.
Nash looks at Damen, frown creasing his brow slightly as he drops back against the cushions. "Mind your yap around my boy. I don't care who you are."
Yosannah raises a hand to her mouth and chuckles.
Davin looks to Nash questioningly.
Damen glances back at Nash. "Ah, so he's *your* bitch," he continues to the bar, "And that makes two of us....I don't care who I am either."
Yosannah follows after Damen - rolling her eyes as she does.
Damen begins to pour two drinks. One for Yosannah and one for himself.
Nash wrinkles his nose, his tone mild despite the content. "That's my son. If you can't be civilised, naff off and come back when you've evolved."
Damen smirks, "This coming from the man with an empty vodka bottle at his side." He offers one of the drinks to Yosannah.
Nash says "If I were drunk, I'd say you had a point. I'm not and you don't."
Yosannah takes the glass from Damen and mutters, "Stone'll let anyone in this place these days.... wait.." She turns to Damen, "I thought you were running our little hole now? What's with the riff raff?"
Damen shrugs, "Stone's been seen. I move back into the shadows....." He says this as if it explains everything.
Yosannah gulps at her drink, "Naturally."
Nash smiles faintly at the ceiling, offering up an introduction, "I'm Nash Cragvale, by the way."
Yosannah laughs loudly, "Does that make you one of Rom's kin? Poor you."
Davin looks between the adults, keeping quiet in his chair.
Nash waves a langid, black and white hand towards Davin as he says, "Be nice, please. It's such a small request."
Damen smiles faintly and shrugs, "Cragvale....the family that thinks Stone sold them Banished Sun."
Yosannah laughs again, "Really? How cute." After a moment she adds, "Suckers. Don't they know that Stone could sell a club to a baby seal?"
Damen sips his drink. He nods to Nash, though, per his request regarding his son's presence. Damen nods with a smirk, "That's what I explained to Crimson.....he was very stuffy."
Nash smiles more broadly. "I'm not Crimson. And I understand the arrangement perfectly."
"What arrangement?"
Damen nods sagely, "I can see that you are a man with a good sense of humor." He turns to Yosannah. "There was no arrangement. Banished Sun was not Stone's to sell."
Nash prises himself more or less upright, the better to observe. He casts his smile, somewhat reassuring, towards Davin.
"Ah, see, that's why I was so confused." She nods in Nash's direction, "What's he talk'n about then?"
Nash rubs a hand over his eyes, muffling another yawn, "Either you know the arrangement, or you don't."
Yosannah rolls her eyes again though it is accompanied by an audible exhale of breath. "Jesus."
Damen chuckles. "Whatever." His attention now fully goes to Yosannah. "Catch me up."
Yosannah motions for him to refill her glass. "Well, one of 'her' partners dropped me off in this shadow - plop. And said that I'd heal faster there or something."
Damen rubs his jaw thoughtfully before setting down his own glass to refill hers. Then, he's all ears.
Nash says to Davin, "Fetch me out a soda water will you, weed? And anything edible he's hiding back there - sandwich long gone."
Davin slides out of his chair, leaving the novel in his chair and heads for the bar, "Lemon soda water or the gross plain stuff?"
Yosannah continues, "I remember some moments clearly, others not so.. and then." She makes a motion with her hands, "Poof. She was gone. I had control back." She reaches for her glass, "THAT's when I noticed my cards were gone."
Nash wrinkles his nose again, "Plain. If I wanted to drink something that tasted like air freshener I'd be on that cherry muck of yours."
Davin digs in the bar, collecting a bottle of soda water and a box of crackers, and another can of coke, "There's not usually cherry coke in the bar fridge." he comments to Nash as he returns.
Yosannah turns to regard Davin, "There damn sure should be. Cherry Coke, Diet coke, Dr. Pepper..." She skips around to the back of the bar and starts to poke through everything, "Jesus, I'm not here for more then a couple days and the place goes to shit."
Nash takes the crackers and the soda water, "Thanks." and starts in on both straight away, remarking, "Hope for your stomach yet, then."
Davin grins to Yosannah, "Maybe it's just always drunk by the time I look. What's Dr. Pepper, it sounded scary, so I left it alone."
Nash somehow manages not to get crumbs on /anything/. It's almost eerie. Or a pathalogical neatness belied by his faintly rumpled exterior.
Damen studies Yosannah carefully for a moment. "Then you must be wearing contacts."
Yosannah looks up at Damen from behind the bar, ignoring Davin's comment, "No. I can make that go away when I'm not using her gifts. Watch."
Slowly the black clouds seem to pour out of her eyes exposing her soft greens.
Nash glances over, watching. Damen says "Yet you say she left? But some of her is still in you?"
Yosannah nods, "I think so. Maybe she was just had to take care of things with the others in The Kitchen. I don't know." She lifts a case of Cherry Coke to the top of the bar and begins to put the warm cans into the fridge, "Do you think I should put the collar back on? I was wondering about that."
Damen shrugs, "I think that's your call, darl'n. What if she decides to come back?"
Davin doesnt make it back into his chair before he's heading back over to the bar at the sight of Cherry Coke, "I didnt know there was more down there. Cool."
Nash says, after a swig of soda, "Aren't the Horsemen in that area at the moment?"
Yosannah pauses in her conversation and regards Nash silently.
Nash looks to Yosannah, tilting his head. Crumb free.
Yosannah watches Nash cooly, "What's it to ya?"
Davin reaches up to exchange cold coke with warm cherry coke, "Thanks."
Nash says "I was just making an observation. I was on very good terms with Famine."
Yosannah frowns, "I highly doubt that."
Damen takes up his own drink, remaining silent.
Nash smiles, "Doubt all you want," he does his crumbless trick with another cracker, washing it down with more soda and saying somewhat wryly, "Pardon my manners, here. Starving."
Yosannah smirks and crosses her arms, "And which incarnation of Famine are you supposedly on good terms with? The wraith? Or perhaps the vampire? You don't know half as much as you think you do."
Nash shakes his head slightly, "Hank. We're still buddies. But something happened to Famine. I'd love to know what."
"Well then, You are on terms with Hank." She scawfs, "You have wonderful taste in 'buddies' - bravo." She reaches her hand across the bar and places it over Damen's.
Damen murmurs, "Cragvale." It comes out sounding like a cough.
Nash shrugs a little, "Why the rampant hostility? You sound like schoolyard children, mocking someone not of your clique. It's not becoming."
Davin is settled into reading, not watching the adults anymore.
Damen squeezes Yosannah's hand in turn. Damen smirks at Nash. "Boyo, you're name dropping. Next thing you'll be telling us is you had tea with Dworkin while the Serpent shined your shoes."
Yosannah chuckles.
Nash looks faintly confused at that, "I was not aware Hank was considered name-dropping. I would genuinely like to know what happened to famine. Your girl there professes to know something."
"I professed nothing to you. And, quite frankly, Famine is none of your business."
Nash says "Again the hostility without any cause I can see."
Damen grins faintly, "How did Stone find you?"
Yosannah smirks.
Nash takes another swig of soda, "He gave me tickets to the movie theatre."
Yosannah leans toward Damen and mumbles, loudly, "Nash here is really a baby seal."
Damen chuckles softly. Nash smirks and devours another cracker cleanly.
Yosannah gulps down her drink and holds the glass in Damen's direction, "What is this anyway?"
Damen says "A madras." He twists the ring on his hand absently, then explains. "Vodka, cranberry and orangejuice."
Nash asks, "Why do you hate Cragvale? And do you always treat strangers with such open disdain for your personal bigotry?"
Yosannah places her empty glass in the sink behind the bar and wanders around to the barstools.
Damen nods, "Usually. It gets me the girls."
Nash utters a short laugh. "As you say."
"Such a truth-sayer that Damen. And oh so charming."
Damen shrugs, "I just gotta be me."
Nash says "Sometimes that's a mistake."
Davin balances his coke on the arm of the chair as he flips the page, collecting it up again in a moment.
Damen smiles ferally at Nash. "You ain't me."
Nash nods slightly, "And right glad of it, at present."
Damen smirks. Yosannah plays with the little red and white straws on the bar. "blah blah blah..."
Damen nods, "I second that." He studies her for a moment. "You and I have some talking to do, lass."
Nash eats the last of the crackers, carefully putting the empty packet by the empty vodka bottle. "So. Where did Stone find you two?"
Yosannah hops off the barstool, "We found him."
Nash says "I bet he was thrilled."
"Tell me about it."
Damen chuckles, "Dreamed him into being....and thus...he was. Much like Gideon."
Nash smiles, "Of course."
Yosannah heads toward the hallway, "See ya, kid." She offers in Devin's direction.
Davin waves to Yosannah, "Bye, thanks for showing me where the cherry coke was."
Gideon Club, Hallway -- heading up to the second floor...
Yosannah rolls her eyes as she heads toward the stairwell, "Where does he dig them up?"
Damen shrugs, "Got me."
Yosannah heads up the stairwell, "And what's his deal? Hostile this and hostile that..." She stops halfway up and turns back around, "Isn't he the one who told you to mind your yap?"
Damen smirks and follows her up.
"I should change, how 'bout we go to the Inn?"
Damen nods, "We can do that."
Yosannah points at the mirror at the end of the room, "Come on then." She moves to stand before the mirror and, after a moment...
Webber's Wayside Inn, second
floor...
Appears on the other side of the mirror and enters the door at the far end of the hallway.
Damen smirks, "You add that little trick yourself?"
Yosannah plops down onto the bed, "What?"
Damen says "The mirror." He moves to your bookshelf, examing what's there.
"Hmm, that's been there a while. Remember when 'Laynee was messing around with her mirror experiments. I borrowed a couple." She watches him wander over the the books, "What are you doing?"
Damen shrugs, "Poking around...averting my gaze...giving you time to change."
Yosannah rolls off the bed and digs through a dresser, "Do you remember Baron?"
Damen nods, "Yes."
"He says that he's seen you recently."
Damen quirks an eyebrow up. "Did he?"
Yosannah pulls out a pair of pants and hangs them over her arm as she opens another drawer, "Yeah. At, imagine this, a whore house with Stone." Yosannah gathers up a number of clothing items and then tosses them onto the bed. She then heads into the bathroom.
Damen laughs. "Had he been drinking?"
Yosannah peeks her head out the door with a grin, "Uh, Noooo. Are you pimping Stone out again?" She pops her head back into the bathroom and the sound of running water can be heard.
Damen smirks, "Baron was feeding you lines....on the same token...I think he has a thing for you."
Yosannah yells back, "Do you think so? How cute is that." And then, "Lines? What would he do that for?"
Damen murmurs, "To get in your pants..." and then, a bit louder. "I have no idea."
"Interesting. Well, that's how I got back here by the way."
Damen asks, "Baron?"
"Yeah... He... at ... found me...said... you... home."
Damen frowns, "What?"
Yosannah yells over the sound of running water, "Yes! He was at this brothel place I was talking about and found me there. He said that you and Stone were there a week prior to that and then he offered me a ride home via trump express."
Damen rubs his jaw thoughtfully, "Put some bactine on that gash."
"Yeah yeah." Shortly thereafter, the sound of the shower stops, "So, have you run into Baron lately?"
Damen says "Haven't seen him in ages..... Did you talk to him much?"
Yosannah wanders out of the bathroom. She is drying her hair with a towel, "Not really. We had to go through The Kitchen to get back. You know, through the subway. Dumb shit didn't have a trump of Elbridge or the Club."
Damen turns, swiftly and pulls her to him. His head dips and he seizes her lips with his own. Time stops, and then slowy fades back to reality. "I've missed you." is his only answer to his actions.
Yosannah smiles and drops the towel to the floor, "I can tell." She frowns lightly, "I tried to hard to get back here. And I had no way to reach you."
Damen sighs softly and runs his fingers along your back. "I will never let that happen again. I'll find a way so you always have that lifeline."
