Amber Trump Deck Logs RL Pictures Main

Banished Sun - Dover port ...

Scott stands with his hands behind his back, looking out over the ocean.

Yosannah notes Scott as she strolls up the pier from the south. She too seems to have been looking out over the water.

Scott glances towards Yosannah as she walks up the pier. He nods to her, then goes back to gazing at the ocean.

Yosannah approaches the man, softly, "Hello again." A light wind whips across the docks, blowing her hair across her face. She makes an unsuccessful attempt at brushing it out of her eyes.

Scott replies. "Hello." The wind blows his black locks across his face as well. His overcoat swirls about him. He turns to Yosannah and smiles. "Didn't think I'd run into you here."

Yosannah offers a light smile, "I live here." Her gaze turns to the water; perhaps in an effort to see what it is that he was gazing at.

Scott chuckles faintly. "That's right. I had forgotten that." He returns his gaze to the water. "It is very peacful here." He lets out a soft breath. "Soothing."

Yosannah nods in agreement, "It's funny you should say that. I come here quite a bit." She nods over her shoulder at the security cameras, "If you don't mind Big Brother."

Scott looks towards the cameras, then asks, "Big Brother?"

Yosannah hehs and explains, "Someone's always watching." She nods mysteriously but then laughs, "Of course, in this case, the 'someone' is a friend, so it's not so bad."

Scott nods. "Ah. Brandon used to have a shipping business here. I came here often then."

Yosannah lets a smile escape her lips, "Brandon? I wasn't referring to Brandon, but now that you mention him, I saw him a week or so ago out here. Working on some sort of shipment if I recall correctly."

Scott raises a brow. "I didn't know he still worked around here." He sighs, "I think I need to get out more. I'm out of the loop."

Yosannah lifts her arms from her sides and stretches, "Well, sometimes the 'loop' is not such a good place to be in. Too much trouble trying to remain in it."

Scott nods. "That's a very valid point, Yosannah. Besides, I'm trying to get myducks in a row, so to speak." He smiles, "But I still like to come here, just to get away from Chaos and Amber for awhile."

Yosannah insists, "Yo. Please. Yosannah is just too... too much."

Scott grins, "Okay, Yo."

Yosannah inquires, "So, you spend most of your time Court side or in Amber? Where are you from?"

Scott smiles, "That's a complicated issue. I'm from earth. I used to work in Amber, and I'm Chaosian by lineage."

Yosannah nods her head in understanding, "Not so complicated. I'm from Earth." She shrugs, "Maybe the same one as you. Who knows."

Scott shrugs, "I used to be a surfer bum from California. Now I'm a Chaosian lord. Heir to a House no less." He sighs, "The pressure is stifling sometimes."

Yosannah chuckles, "You sound like a friend of mine."

Scott chuckles. "Nice to know I'm not the only one that's screwed up. To make matters even more difficult, my friend, who's an Amber lord, may be in trouble because I visit him sometimes. There is a guard in his House that thinks all demons are evil." He shrugs, "I've done a good job of keeping my idenity secret, but she's getting close. And as easy as would be to do so, I'm reluctant to deal with her. Know what I mean?"

Yosannah nods, "Yes." She bites her lip for a moment, "Who is your friend?"

Scott says "Chrisian d'Alesse."

Yosannah hmms and considers for a moment as she tries to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, "Not so sure I know the name." She offers, "Maybe you shouldn't go to Amber to visit" She winks.

Scott nods. "I've considered that. But we've been friends for years. I used to work for his late cousin." He shrugs, "Besides, I'm applying for a new job that might make it okay for me to be there."

Yosannah smiles, thoughtfully, "Well then," she tucks a hand in the pocket of her suit jacket, "I'm sure you'll take good care until it's all worked out." And then, "So, what brought you to the Sun by the way?"

Scott shrugs, "I've a trump here for a long, long time. So, I decided to use it.

Yosannah smiles at that, "Did I? May I see it?"

Scott withdraws the trump from his overcoat and hands it over.

Yosannah takes the card and turns it over in her hand as she examines it, "Hmmm. Looks like it could be one of mine, sure." She nods as she studies it and then hands it back.

Scott places the trump back into the folds of his coat. "How long have you been living here?"

Yosannah exhales and furrows her brow in thought, "Hmmm. About ten years now." She nods at that, "Seems like forever."

Scott says "You ever consider going back to earth?"

Yosannah nods in answer to that, "Oh, I go back regularly. I still prosecute there." And then, "I didn't for a while. Go back that is. But I missed it. A friend of mine lives in Berekely California actually. I'm thinking I might move from my New Ork office to there." She shrugs, "But I'm still thinking that out."

Scott says "I thought about visiting my parents..." He corrects himself, "....my foster parents in L.A., but the last time I was there...well, they were kinda freaked about my powers. I wanted to give them time to..I dunno, mellow out a bit."

Yosannah raises a brow at that, "Why did you tell them?"

Scott says "I didn't. I saved their lives...I had no choice. They would have died."

Yosannah tugs at her lower lip with her teeth, habitually, "I'm sorry. That must have been difficult for you. What happened?"

Scott says "We were on a family vacation. Rock climbing. My parents, my older brother, and my younger sister. At the time I owned a very sucessful corporation in San Francisco, developing technology for the U.S. government. Anyways, we were scaling a cliff, and my dad's rope broke. He was tied to my mom, so both of them fell due to the weight of my dad."

Yosannah lowers her gaze to the docks as she listens, "Oh my..."

Scott continues. "I reacted without thinking. I cut my own rope and dove off the cliff after them, while simultaneously casting a spell. I held out until I got my hands on my mom and dad, then I initiated the spell. I manipulated the wind to blow us back up to the top. So to them, and to my siblings...I was flying. They even noticed that I bore the weight of my mom and dad as if they weighed nothing." He shrugs, "My family freaked out. And I don't really blame them."

Yosannah nods in understanding, "I'm surprised you had the wherewithal to maintain such concentration." She smiles, encouragingly, "You are quite the talent."

Scott shrugs, "I'm an instructor at the Academy of Magic. And I have rank in the Royal Sorcerer's Society of Chaos. I've been well trained, that's all." He grins, "Besides, I love extreme sports. It was a rush."

Yosannah chuckles at that, "Very funny." And then, "Academy of Magic, you say? Do you know my fia... do you know Damen then?"

Scott nods. "I know him. Don't think he likes me very well, but it has been awhile since I last saw him."

Yosannah smiles, knowingly, at that, "That certainly sounds like him. I'm sure it's nothing personal. It's just his way."

Scott smirks, "Though it could be that once I sorta said that you were cute, and I think he heard me." He grins, "Maybe he's jealous, though he has no reason to be."

Yosannah regards him out of the corner of her eye without turning her head to face him. She smiles, mostly to herself, "Cute? Well, thank you." She hehs, "Though he has killed for less," She winks again, "I'd be careful if I were you." She teases.

Scott says "Oh, he has nothing to worry about from me. Besides, I'm hoping that he's forgotten about it."

Yosannah removes her hand for her pocket an crosses her arms over her chest, "I'm not sure if that's a compliment or if I should be insulted..."

Scott shakes his head, "Oh no. Only that I am very much in love with another woman." He smiles, "Though if I weren't, I'd give old Damen a run for his money."

Yosannah chuckles, "Well, good then. My ego is in tact." She kicks her heel into the wood of the dock, "Who is this woman, if you don't mind my asking."

Scott replies, "Princess Deirdre's daughter. Demeter. We're engaged."

Yosannah smiles, "That's very sweet. Engaged..." though this seems to cause a shadow to fall across her face, "Where will the happy event be?"

Scott says "We haven't decided yet. We haven't even told our parents yet. As you can probably guess, this might cause problems."

Yosannah offers, "I know how that is. When I was engaged with Damen, Luke gave him a hard time because he thought I was Chaosian. It's a tough thing to deal with." She encourages, "I suggest eloping."

Scott sighs, "Believe me, I want to. But she's got her heart set on a big wedding."

Yosannah hehs, "Like most women. I can understand that."

Scott says "But the last thing I need is the royals on my back. I've gone up against some pretty powerful people in the past, but those guys are a different story."

Yosannah agrees, "Yes, do be careful. I envy you. You must be very excited."

Scott grins, "I'm always excited by a challenge. It's a character flaw. But luckily I've also been lucky enough to have had personal training by some masters in their chosen fields."

Yosannah laughs, "I'm talking about excitement over being in love and being engaged." She shakes her head, "Men..."

Scott laughs, "That too."

Yosannah continues to shake her head, "Goodness."

Scott grins faintly. "What's with the men comment?"

Yosannah chuckles, "If you need to ask, then I'm not gonna explain." She changes the subject, expertly, "So, tell me. What's the situation with your King? Has Chaos picked one yet?"

Scott shakes his head, "No, not yet. There are a couple campaigning for it, but I haven't heard any details lately."

Yosannah asks, "Like who?"

Scott smiles, "Well, Calder was in the runnings. As well as Mirth. Some even say Lorana is going to try."

Yosannah nods, "I see. You'd think they would have it figured out by now and..." She looks at her watch, "Oh hell...Scott. I'm sorry. I'm late. I gottah go." She seems disappointed.

Scott nods. "It's cool. Take care, Yo."

Yosannah nods, mimicing him, "Thank you. I wish you and your intended the best." She fishes around in her pocket and pulls forth a mish mash of cards. She thumbs through them, "I'm sure it will work out."

Scott smiles, "I hope so. And thank you ."

Yosannah smiles as well before she vanishes...
