Worlds End Bar...
Yosannah smiles briefly at the sight of
both Zeta and Vassago until she notes the tenor of their
conversation. Her gaze falls to Emily with a smile, "Emily. Hello
there." She waves in the woman's direction.
Emily is startled out of her conversation
with Joshua by the sound of her voice, then turns. "Oh! Hi....
Yosannah."
Joshua squints at Yosannah.
Yosannah crosses her arms over her chest
as if chilled as she approaches Emily,"Good to see you again," she
nods, "Under more casual circumstances at least. How are
you?"
Emily smiles easily at Yosannah. "I'm
great. Do you know my Dad? Joshua Spade? Dad, this is Yosannah...
uh.. I don't know your last name," she says, apologetically to
Yosannah. Emily adds, in place of a surname, "From
California."
Joshua gives Yosannah an annoyed squint,
"Hey, ain't you the bitch that gave my brother the
plague?"
Emily glances at her father,
startled.
Yosannah raises a brow at Joshua, "I"m
sorry?" She looks to Emily, questioningly.
Emily is now gazing at Yosannah
speculatively.
Joshua points his finger, "Yeah, that was
you all right. He was puking for a month."
Emily asks, astounded, "Why'd you give
Uncle D the plague?"
Yosannah seems perplexed, "I..." She
shakes her head, "You'll have to forgive me, it's quite possible that
I did... I just..." She lowers her gaze to the floor, trying to
recall but further words are caught in her throat.
Joshua frowns, "Yeah, you and your
boyfriend got a great chuckle out of that one." Joshua doesn't seem
too ready to do anything about it, despite his accusation. In fact,
he just slouches in his chair.
Emily asks, a suggestion as much as
clarification, "You had the plague yourself?"
Yosannah nods at Emily, "Something like
that." She seems apologetic, "I assure you though, it wasn't
something I..." She exhales and regards Joshua, "I'm not that person
you're thinking I am. If I hurt your brother, I'm sorry.
Truly."
Joshua waves a dismissive hand. "He's
dead anyways. Join us?"
Emily invites, gamely, "Have a drink."
Emily orders a rum and cherry cola. The bartender hands it to a
server who takes it to table on the far wall and sets it before
her.
Yosannah slides a chair away from the
table and sits softly next to Emily.
At your table, Joshua continues something
left off, "So anyways honey, 5,283 wars. I lost most of them, but
what the hell."
At your table, Yosannah looks to see what
Joshua may have been drinking.
At your table, Joshua doesn't seem to
have a drink.
At your table, Yosannah nods to the
waitress in effort to get her attention. She asks of Joshua, "I'll
get you something if you'd like."
At your table, Emily blinks at her
father. Stunned.
At your table, Joshua says "I'll take a
smoke if you have one."
At your table, Emily then says,
"Full-scale wars?"
At your table, Emily fishes in her purse,
without thinking about it, and offers a dime bag out to
Joshua.
At your table, Joshua nods blandly at
Emily. "If I am going to be your warlord, I need to know how to war?"
He takes the bag.
At your table, Yosannah shakes her head,
"Unfortunately I don't." She notes Emily's gesture for her father and
raises a brow.
At your table, Joshua says to Yosannah,
"So Emily tells me you're sleeping with Merlin."
At your table, Emily says, "Dad! I said
date. Not sleeping with."
At your table, Yosannah gazes sidelong at
Emily, "Emily?"
At your table, Emily assures Yosannah, "I
didn't say sleeping with."
At your table, Joshua starts to roll a
joint, uncaring of whose feathers he ruffles.
At your table, Emily asks Yosannah, as if
it were only polite, "You want some weed?"
Dwight appears suddenly.
At your table, Yosannah finally catches
the attention of a waitress and mutters, over her shoulder,
"...reisling, please." To Emily she shakes her head and states
flatly, "No."
Dwight appears to the left of the door.
He slouches back against the wall, pocketing his card with one hand,
lifting a cigarette to drag on with the other.
At your table, Yosannah looks to Joshua
pointedly, "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't catch your name."
At your table, Joshua says "Joshua. No
real titles or anything."
At your table, Yosannah says "Of
course."
Emily waves her hand that isn't holding
her drink.
Yosannah seems about to say something
further to Joshua but turns her head instead to see what Emily is
waving at.
Joshua glances over at Dwight. He smiles, "You ever wear shoes?" The question is rhetorical, "Em honey, why don't you and Dwight grab a table with more chairs. Yosannah and I'll be along in a
sec."
Emily glances at Joshua and then Yosannah
curiously, then calls over to Dwight, "How about it, D?"
Dwight exhales a cloud of smoke, then
drops his cigarette on the floor. He steps it out with foot. "Works
for me."
Yosannah says nothing at this but she
does offer a light smile to Emily.
Emily slips out of her chair and works
her way closer to Dwight.
At your table, Joshua takes his time in
licking his joint shut.
Yosannah's wine is delived to her table
and set before her. She does not reach for it.
Dwight tells Emily, as he pushes off the
wall, "Pick your poison."
Emily glances around, then with a smile,
heads up the stairs to the balcony.
At your table, Yosannah clasps her hands
together and rests her elbows on the table. Chin in her
hands.
At your table, Joshua says "Dwight was a
mean sonovabitch, he probably had whatever you gave him coming. Plus,
he could take care of himself."
At your table, Yosannah wets her lips as she regards Joshua intently. She reaches for her glass and holds it to her lips, "And you just wanted to tell me that. Well, gee wiz, Joshua. Thank you."
At your table, Joshua says "That, and
Emily is my little girl. She -can't- take care of herself. Not like
that, anyways. Get my drift?"
At your table, Yosannah says "First of
all, I'll like your daughter." She sips her wine and then sets the
glass back on the table, "Second of all, I'm not about to get into a
pissing match with you, Joshua. There would be very little point...
on both ends."
At your table, Joshua says "Hey, I'm not threatening you."
At your table, Yosannah assures him, "No. You are not."
At your table, Joshua says "But I've been away a while...sometimes people forget things. Anyways, lets go join my kids. You have lovely nails by the way, very becoming."
Joshua stands and leaves the table on the
far wall.
Yosannah smiles at something Joshua says
and shakes her head.
Joshua walks up the staircase to the balcony.
Later that night at the Church of the Serpent...
Selene is looking at the walls with a devilish grin on her face.
Yosannah appears in a shimmer of at the back of the Cathedral. She takes a moment to allow her eyes to adjust to the light.
Selene mutters to herself something about a disco ball and lava lamps.
Yosannah offers lightly as she spots the woman, "Selene. Hello."
Selene turns around actually caught off guard, "Oh hello."
Yosannah walks lightly in the direction of the dias, passing Selene and sliding into a pew, "There was something you wanted to say to me. Perhaps now might be the best time" She exhales as if worn and tired.
Selene nods..and walks over towards her.
In your pew, Selene says "It seems Rubi is commenting about something being missing as well."
In your pew, Yosannah nods, "I wish I could say that I was surprised." She lowers her head and lifts her hand to rub her forhead.
In your pew, Selene says "Have you seen War, and why do two claim to be death? A man I know from atom and the woman we have fought on the same side with before?"
In your pew, Yosannah shakes her head, weary, "I have not seen War in about two months." She considers, "And ... Death. I don't exactly understand what happened. Do you recall the battle in the Kitchen over a year ago?"
In your pew, Selene says "Of course I was in the middle"
In your pew, Yosannah looks to the front of the Cathedral. Eyes falling on the dias, "The spell she cast somehow caused a splitting. And I'm not even going to pretend that I understand what happened."
In your pew, Selene says "Then when I asked about it before why did you deny it?"
In your pew, Yosannah says "At that point, I hadn't confirmed what it was that you were asking me." She scratches at her neck, "I hadn't been back to the Kitchen in a long time. I'm sorry I went back there now."
In your pew, Selene nods.."I have been there a few times it seems madness is the best word to discuss that shadow right now."
In your pew, Yosannah says "I think in Kitsune's effort to fix what she had made wrong, she just made things worse."
In your pew, Selene nods, "Now two claiming to be gods are at war there so I doubt Kitsune, Mariko, whatever she calls herself, feels the missing factor."
In your pew, Yosannah says "Whoever she is. And I'm not sure I believe that the woman is really Mariko reborn though she is quite mad."
In your pew, Selene nods.."It is strange. Whoever that woman is, seems to have some of Mariko's memories, what do you know about the "male" death person."
In your pew, Yosannah shakes her head, "Not enough. In fact, Death is no longer with him - but I may have already told you that. I'm having trouble with my short term memory the last week or so." She chuckles, "I think I'm just tired"
In your pew, Selene nods, "I can stay with you hear to watch over you just in case?"
In your pew, Yosannah nods, "I appreciate that. I've actually been spending a great deal of time in the company of others so that I don't have to be alone." She licks her lips, closes her eyes and rests her had against the back of the pew, "Not that I anticipate anyone will be able to do anything for me if something happens... but I don't want to be alone after it does. I don't know what it will do to me. I think I'm scared." She chuckles at that.
In your pew, Selene says "If worst comes to worst I can make sure you are not a threat to others...perhaps one who knows about the horsemen but not one is the ideal choice, either Lady Ada-Shazandra or myself."
In your pew, Yosannah nods, "Maybe you're right." Her eyes are still closed but she smiles, "Funny, I actually agree with you about something, Sel. There's a first time for everything, I suppose." After a moment of silence, "I've distanced myself from Damen , Stone and Banished Sun just for that very reason. I thought that, perhaps, Corey would be helpful, but ... maybe it's best if I just stay away from all my loved ones."
In your pew, Selene sighs, "I guess so, you and I have a history, perhaps Ada would be a better choice.."
In your pew, Yosannah nods thoughtfully, "Maybe. In any event, I'm exhausted."
In your pew, Selene says "As am I...rest here for the night."
In your pew, Yosannah says "I'll drag myself off to one of the bed chambers in a bit." She opens her eyes now and rolls her head in Selene's direction, "Thank you for sharing the information about Rubi."
In your pew, Selene says "Your welcome..it seems for once we are on the same side.."
In your pew, Yosannah nods, gaze lingering towards the ceiling now, "We'll see..."
