Located along the northeast entrance road, Lamar Valley is a prime wildlife viewing area. Animals seen in this region include: bison, elk, grizzly bear, black bear, antelope, deer, mountain sheep, wolves and coyotes. The valley is big and the animals are often far away. Be sure to bring binoculars or a spotting scope.
Located between Canyon Village and Yellowstone Lake, Hayden Valley is a prime wildlife viewing area in the summer. The summer bison herds here are among the largest in the park. Other animals commonly seen in this area include: elk, grizzly bear(usually in the evenings at a long distance), deer, coyotes and white pelicans.
