As noted on the previous page about my inlaws being stranded, they left 6 1995 or later snowmobiles back at camp. As they were concerned over leaving them in the deep snow we made a rescue of the sleds. The following weekend the three guys that were in the weekend before and I had to break trail with snowshoes in order for an old E'Lan ( an extremely light snowmobile that is easy to get out of deep snow) to follow us. This trail we broke would allow the newer, heavier sleds to follow that new trail. Here we are going in! This photo was taken off that old E'Lan
This is me in front of camp. The lump in front of me is a 1996 SLS Ski Doo 500. Note the windows on the side of camp. They are normally over 6 feet off the ground. It took about an hour to dig out a sled. On the trip out I got frostbite on my neck because I did not have my neck properly covered. I am happy to report that was the only casualty ( me, a guy who who was not even there the weekend of the storm)and the sleds had no damage.
