In the fall deer are attracted to an apple tree in my back yard. This is about 20 yards from my house and I decided to try and keep the deer coming by supplementing the apples with corn and barley. It worked beyond my widest dreams. I went throgh about 100 pounds a week. One main reason they were around was that the usual "wintering" area was developed into a car dealership so they began to winter on my property. There were a lot of small ones this year and the relatively mild winter (120 inches of snow) meant winter kill was at a minimum. As of April 10, 1997, they no longer come out every day as there is plenty of browse available without snow cover. Most days in January, February and March saw up to 18 deer fighting for food. My hours of observation taught me tons!!
Here are some turkey that were down the street from my house. The quality is real bad...but those blobs really are turkey!!!
