The world famous Swami Vivekananda had surrendered his life to his Gurudev Swami Shri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa. In the days when Shri Ramakrishna was to leave his body, Vivekananda did not bother about the poor conditions of his family & relatives, but served Gurudev day & night religiously with full dedication. The body of Gurudev had become very weak & sick. Ramakrishna was suffering from cancer, therefore blood, pus, mucus etc used to get discharged from his throat. He used to clean these very carefully.

Once somebody showed hatred & carelessness while serving to Gurudev & made bad face due to hatred. Seeing this Vivekanada was outraged. So as to teach a lesson to that person & to show love towards each & every object of Gurudev, he immediately drank the whole bowl filled with blood & mucus lying near Gurudev's bed.

Such a devotion & dedication towards Gurudev! Such an honest service towards the body of Gurudev! It is because of this "seva" only that he could follow the divine ideal taught by Shri Ramakrishna. He could understand Gurudev and dissolve his identity into that of Gurudev. He could spread the fragrance of the invalueable spiritual treasury of India in the whole world.

The foundation of his great personality was - True Devotion, True Service and the One & Only True Dedication towards Gurudev.
