I am an adjunct professor in the Physics Department of the Université de Montréal, and an invited researcher at its Centre de Recherches Mathématiques which houses the Numerical Physics group PHYSNUM under the direction of Professor Bernard Goulard.

I am also a member of the CAP, SPIE , the IEEE , the CASI , the Harvard Club of Québec as its secretary, and the Mensa Society.

I recently rejoined the R&D Department of Lockheed Martin Canada (formerly Loral Canada, Unisys GSG and Paramax) as an Advisory Member of R&D and am now a Senior Member of Engineering.

I have co-organized the 4th International Conference on Information Fusion FUSION 2001 held in August 2001.

I was previously a Senior Image Scientist of the Advanced Technology Group at Park Medical Systems (now a defunct company).

My interests include, amongst others:

• hiking in the Northeastern and Southwestern USA,

  the sunny warm tropical Islands of (mostly Maui and the Big Island)

  and the rocks, snow and ice of the French

• nature photography, both regular (prints), panorama and stereoscopic (slides),

• and beer tasting (I have a huge collection of empty bottles from around the world!)

All these interests involve a lot of traveling which I thoroughly enjoy, sometimes with my dog who likes to run since she's an Afghan.

Here is an example of Lockheed technology, namely the SR-71 "Blackbird", the world's fastest aircraft (> Mach 3) with a ceiling of 85,000 feet. The photo was taken at the PIMA Air Museum in Tucson, AZ.

Some other facts of my life are:

• Computers dominate my professional life.
  • On my office desk at Lockheed Martin Canada I have a Dell Optiplex GX1 Pentium III and a 21 inch Trinitron monitor. It runs Solaris 8 for Intel x86, under KDE 2.2.1 with access to Windows NT4 SP5 through Citrix's MetaFrame on a dual processor Dell PowerEdge 6300 with 1024 Mb of memory.
  • On corporate trips, I use my new Dell Inspiron 700 MHz (with 128 Mb) under Windows ME.
  • Also at home I have an old Dell Dimension 300 MHz Pentium II with 128 Mb of memory, which is mainly used for high speed Internet access.

• My passion for photography is satisfied though several media, including
  • a Sony Handicam 72X,
  • a Fuji APS Zoom and
  • a new digital Fuji 1400 Zoom (optical 3X).

• I have a sports car fetish which I've cured with a Nissan 300ZX, soon a 350Z, and an Audi Quattro A4 1.8T .
