Attendended Barker College since 1980. Played rugby union throughout In year 11 (1990) had a bit too much fun and decided to repeat the year. Graduated in 1992 with a TER of 93.45/100 allowing me to enter Commerce at Sydney University. (the Entrance requirement has since dropped to 86 TER).
Started university in 1993 commencing with thousands of very large parties. I went on my first Ski Club ski trip; Australian Universities Chanpionships at Mt Buller. I Discovered my love of drinking on this trip.
In 1994 I joined the committee as Treasurer under the Presidency of Chris Mapp. I went to AUC/IV for the presentation dinner which was the last night..
I went to New Zealand that year as my main ski trip. An amazing trip with around 120 people. While the majority were from Sydney uni, Maquarie, NSW, UTS and Woollongong uni's were also present. I think I had no more than 10 hrs sleep the whole week.
1995 came and low and behold my final year at uni... not.. You see in having all this fun, I forgot the reason why I was at uni. So.. I became Vice-President of the ski club under the presidency of Cameron Kennedy. Myself and some character named Westy organised the New Zealand Trip with Cam to maximise the potential for intense fun. Again 120 people and way too much snow.
I had my 21st B'day in 1995 and well...began to feel older.. I thought. So I became President of the Ski Club in 1996. Westy and myself were to organise New Zealand again.. however due to undue influence from a number of dictators; Westy pulled out... So I got autonomy in the organisation of the trip. The success of the trip I believe can be measured by the growth in club participation and the friendships that have BECOME. Everyone said they had the best week of they're lives which is as good a compliment as any. I went to IV again this year. And for the second time it was held at Mt Buller. Oh well.
Since then I've started this internet homepage and the Ski Club page such that a history of the ski club can begin. I am in the process of getting scanned photo's of those SCAT members that have made it what it is. I have a full-time job at a Bromley's Chartered Accountants, working casually at Norths Rugby Club and am commencing my Masters of Commerce and Chartered Professional year ummmm ... soon.. I think.
That's the basic info, when I get round to it I'll tell you about the farm, the boat and some other history tit-bits.
