…My Boler Honey…
I bought my 1976 Boler Honey on April 7, 2009 for $250.00 I only worked
on it in my spare time as I have a day job. I completed it on about the
middle of June 2009.
After not much contemplation I decided to re-do it in dedication to a 1957
Chevy I owned when I was 16 in 1969, it was the same color and back then
wore the same Flower Power decals as I was able to find for my Boler exactly
40 years later. In addition, I was fortunate to find an original set of the
British Flower Power Decals as well. The “Glory” stars & stripe decals,
came out of the USA.
My first task was to up-date and move the roof vent to the center of the
roof, then, to replace and add all new windows of uniform size and shape.
I used double-smoked Lexan which matches most SUV windows! The rest was
basic body, fiberglass work that most anyone can do, and of course painting.
Then, new tires, new LED lighting and wiring. On the inside, a new Fridge,
Microwave, water system, air conditioning, heating and a good start to a
“bitchen” sound system!
The Boler Honey decals were probably the most intense of the work hours
that I spent on any part of the entire project. I believe that they are an
absolutely perfect reproduction of the original and if anyone would like a
set I can supply you with them.
I would like to show you the interior now, but that would leave no excuse
to meet you! So I will leave that to hopefully seeing you at a Bolerama
Meet @ Macklin Lake, July 17, 18, 19, 2009.
Best Regards & Drive Safe
