The Flag of the City of Bayport MN
The flag of Bayport was designed by
R. Nathan Bliss in response to the
mayor's plans to replace the former flag with one that included the city
logo (designed by Craig Parent, graphic artist from Stillwater Minnesota).
Not wanting to see his city have a flag like so many others (a logo on a
white sheet) Nathan designed about 3 dozen flags, all including the city
logo, selected the best 12 and presented them to the city council. The
council accepted the design shown here on 1 July 1996.
The city's logo is seen near the upper hoist. The white triangle symbolizes
the three smaller communitites that combined to form Bayport (Bangor,
Middletown, and Baytown). The Blue represents the Saint Croix River, the
Green the land the city sits upon, and the gold the prosperity created by
the two together.
