1A. Quail, rabbit, squirrel, pheasant, prairie chicken, crow, and all wildlife not classified as game: Resident or nonresident hunting license or proof of exemption. Fiveday nonresident hunting license is not valid for taking heasant.
2A. Wild Turkey: Residents must possess a hunting license or proof of exemption. In addition, all turkey hunters must possess a special $7.75 turkey permit for each bird to be harvested unless exempt. Nonresidents must possess an annual nonresident hunting license (the five-day nonresident hunting license is not valid for wild turkey) in addition to the special $7.75 turkey permit for each bird to be harvested unless exempt. Holders of nonresident lifetime licenses are required to purchase a nonresident annual license and turkey permit(s).
3A. Migratory Game Birds (Dove, Rail, Gallinule, Teal, Common Snipe, and Woodcock): Resident or nonresident hunting license or proof of exemption and a Migratory Bird Harvest Information Program (HIP) Permit, unless exempt.
4A. Deer: Residents must possess a hunting license and an archery, primitive (antlered, anterless), or gun (antlered, anterless) deer permit appropriate for the season being hunted or proof of exemption. Nonresidents must possess a nonresident archery, primitive (antlered, anterless), or gun (antlered, anterless) deer permit appropriate for the season being hunted or proof of exeption. Annual nonresident hunting license is not required in addition to the nonresident permits.
5A. Furbearers: A hunting license, or proof of exemption is required of all persons who take or run for sport any furbearer. In addition to the huntiong license, a trpping license is required for all persons who trap any furbearer.. Such license shall expire on February 28 of each year. Therefore, a 1998-99 trapping license must be purchased to trap beaver, nutria, striped skunk and coyote after February 28, 1998. A special bobcat-raccoon-gray fox license is required for all who take these species by any means unless exempt. Such license is valid December 1, 1997, through February 28, 1998. Lifetime hunting or combination license holders must purchase a trapping license to trap.
6A. Nonresident Lifetime Hunting or Combination License: Holders are not exempt from purchasing deer, elk, antelope, furbearer, and turkey permits, trapping license,, Oklahoma waterfowl stamp or federal permits that may be required. For turkey a nonresident ANNUAL license and turkey permit(s) are required.
7A. Nonresident Deer, Antelope, and Elk Licenses: The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation shall not issue any nonresident deer, antelope, or elk license to residents of Kansas, which has a deer season but does not allow Oklahoma residents the opportunity to purchase general unrestricted nonresident licenses in their state.
8A. 1998 Senior Citizen License: Residents of Oklahoma born on or after January 1, 1923, upon reaching age 64 (or those who turn 64 during the claendar year) are eligible to purchase a senoir citizens license, which is good for the rest of their life. Anyone born before January 1, 1923, is exempt but must carry proof of age such as a drivers license. Residents under 65 years old possessing the senior citizen license are exempt from the purchase of the annual hunting license and the deer gun permit only. Upon reaching age 65, possessors of the senior citizen license are exempt form the hunting license, two deer gun permits (one antlered and one anterless) and the Oklahoma Waterfowl Hunting Stamp only. Senior citizen license applications are available through Department headquarters, employees, field installations, and license vendors.
9A. Youth Deer Gun Permit: Legal residents of Oklahoma who are under 18 years of age on the first day of the calendar year are eligible to purchase youth deer gun permits for all deer gun hunts they choose to participate in during that calendar year.
10A. Crossbow Permits: A $5, five-year permit for the hunting or taking of deer during the regular archery season with crossbow may be issued to applicants who have a permanent disability (no hope of recovery during applicant's lifetime) to the extent that they cannot physically use a conventional longbow as certified by a medical doctor licensed to practice in Oklahoma or dordering states. A $5 lifetime crossbow permit may be issued only to amputees with the complete loss of at least the thumb or first inches in length. Crossbows must be equipped with safety devices. Laser sights and electronic tracking devices are prohibited. Leverage gaining devices are permitted. No crossbow may be transported in a motorized vehicle unless uncocked or disassembled.
11A. Disability Hunting License: As of January 1, 1995, persons who have resided in Oklahoma for at least six (6) months, and who are receiving Social Security disability or Supplemental Security Income benefits or both, may purchase a five-year disability hunting license for $10.
12A. Nonambulatory Permit to Hunt from a Motorized Vehicle (Nonambulatory Permit): A five (5) year non-ambulatory permit to hunt or take wildlife with the aid of a motor driven vehicle on Department-managed lands may be issued to residents who are unable to walk due to a) single or duble leg amputation; b) paralysis of lower extremity(ies); and/or c) disease or injury and are confined to the use of a wheelchair as their primary source of mobility, as certified by a medical doctor licensed to practice in Oklahoma or bordering states. Use of a motor vehicle for hunting is intended only as a means of facilitating access. Diring the actual taking of any wildlife, the vehicle being used by the permittee must be stopped and the engine must be turned off. Off-road use of a vehicle on public lands by a nonambulatory permittee is authorized only on lands specifically designated as open for such activity. Maps of areas open to off-road use may be obtained from Department headquarters in Oklahoma City.
13A. Motor Vehicle Permit to Hunt from a Motorized Vehicle: A
five (5) year permit to hunt or take wildlife with the aid of a motor driven
vehicle may be issued to residents having a permanent disability which
confines them to a wheelchair, or requires the use of crutches, a walker
or other means of support or assistance for body mobility as certified
by a medica doctor licensed to practice in Oklahoma or doredring states.
Use of a motor vehicle for hunting is intended only as a means of facilitating
access. Durnig the actual taking of any wildlife, the vehicle being
used by the permittee must be stopped and the engine must be turned off.
Use of a vehicle on public lands by a motor vehicle permittee is authorized
only on roads/trails specifically designated as open for such activity.
Off-road travel by a motor vehicle is prohibited.
