Why take the road less traveled
By Renee Levinson

Take the road less traveled by,
That's what Robert Frost used to say,
What no one ever asked him was… why?

Sometimes it's good to become lost amidst the trees and grasses,
One always learns something about themselves when that happens,
Introspective thought can, at times, be enlightening,
And at other times, frightening.

To know who you truly are in this vast world,
To know what you stand for, and what you do not,
To reveal angels and demons, sometimes without forethought,
And drawing upon the qualities of both, making yourself stronger and weaker all at once.

Be strong, persevere, fight, be a survivor,
But what about the loneliness that accompanies inner strength?
What of that?

Strength makes it difficult to understand the weak of character,
Instead one finds it necessary to seek and find other beings of strength,
The search is long, arduous, and can be a disheartening,
For strength comes from pain, and pain does not always leave the strong.

What is the good of taking the road less traveled by,
So that one might find inner strength along the way?
The road is a painful one for most,
And sometimes it is better to have a map,
Be of weaker character, and not get lost.
