I am the Dreamer of Dreams
by Renee Levinson

---Inspired by the brilliant works written by
Professor Maya Angelou

I am the dreamer of dreams,
Yet to be realized, nor may they ever be,
Of perfect worlds with no lines drawn in the sand.

Where Father's walk with daughters,
Mother's with sons,
And neighbors covet no one.

Where black and white only compliment,
Revealing elegance, sharing energy,
Existing solely for each other.

Where morality and principle are commonplace,
Kindness and compassion guide us,
Plowshares and pruning hooks our only tools.

I am the dreamer of dreams,
Yet to be realized, nor may they ever be,
Of perfect worlds where there is only hope.
