From Darkness, Into Light by Renee Levinson
Crawl out of your skin,
Dreadful as it may sound,
Use the opportunity,
Start anew.
Let knots untie themselves,
Waste no time with them,
Few will do it for you.
The demons that force themselves upon you,
Ravaging dignity,
Destroying hope,
Leave no room for angels of mercy.
Deaf, to love freely spoken,
Blind, to paths shown,
No fault, no blame can ,nor should be placed.
The demons make deafening screams,
Blaze blinding darkness,
The difficulty is in hearing,
The miracle is actually seeing.
There is no right way to do battle,
Keep your side-arm handy,
You may have to shoot your way out once, or twice.
From darkness, into light,
From despair, on towards hope.
