Directions:

Mt. Baker is most often approached S of Glacier, WA via FR 36 to Coleman Glacier. Or, E from Glacier via Hwy 542 to the Ptarmigan Ridge. Or, SE from Birdsview, WA via Baker Lake Rd to Sulphur Creek and Easton Glacier.

Notes:

A colossus of ice and snow, Mt. Baker (10778') is Washington's northernmost stratovolcano. For the climber, Mt. Baker is mainly a glacial challenge. Of the peak's several glaciers, the Parks Glacier is most magnificent.
