CRY SOFTLY
Copyright © 1967 Wayne Linder

Cry softly my darling
And you will hear another's cry.
Our heart's have not been broken
They just need a chance to dry.

Let the sun dry our teardrops
Before we try again.
Let us give ourselves a moment
Before we try again.

Let the rain fall softly
In microscopic drops.
Let it's soothing ablution
Water living lollipops.

Let the moon cast an aura
Over us when again we meet.
Love is not like lightning
It sometimes does repeat.

I love you my wonder
But to stay would kill my soul.
And fate shall make me wander
Until I find a home.
