Initially, the engine looked good. It is a GPW and the oil was in good shape. During the tear down process, I pulled the head and the number 2 cylindar is rusted very badly, as is number 3. The transmission shows some worn gears and they will need to be replaced.
I hauled the engine to a Mike Miesen's house after he agreed to work on it. Since then, we hav discovered that the block was cracked...I have delivered TWO additional engines to Mike, only to discover they, too, have cracked blocks. So, I'm searching for another engine and have a lead on one in Eastern Montana.
