I started stripping the jeep down to the frame. This job was relatively easy with the exception of a few very rusty bolts. The only significant rust damage was to the tub support members. Frame of Jeep

In my garage and after some minor sand blasting, I dismantled, inspected, repaired, or replaced, all the moving parts, as needed. I rebuilt the steering box, replaced two tie-rod ends and had an electrician go through the regulator and generator. Also, new break shoe and master cylinder kits were installed, radiator was cleaned, the gas tank was sealed.

Finally finished with the frame, axels and replaced the old transmission. The tires are 700-16 and not original. They only cost $12.00 each and were purchased in Portland, OR. Most people wouldn't know the difference. I will put 600-16 this year (1997). ** I don't have any pictures ready yet, but just before the 1997 Fourth of July Parade, in Kalispell, I replaced the tired to the 600-16's.**
