Deer season
I can't really imagine
what life would be like
without blindly climbing a tree
or taking a mid-day hike
Joys I never expected
come in those moments of twilight
The world awakens and sleeps
with the waxing and waning of the light
Trembling with anticipation,
adrenaline fills my every vein
The very site of a nice deer
sends shockwaves to my brain
The world would be bleak
pointless and without reason
were it not for that time of year
known as deer season
