Like Uranus , Neptune has an atmosphere containing methane, and like Jupiter it is disturbed by great storms. Embedded within the outermost of its rings are three bright arc segments, whose structure remains enexplained. Triton, the largest of eight satelites, has a thin atmosphere dominated by nitrogen. (The six inner moons bear provisional names.) Geyser - like plumes jet some ten kilometers above the sparkling nitrogen frost that covers Triton's frigid surface.
