Jens was born in 1949 on a farm in Døvling, south of Herning, Jutland.

At the age of 5 he moved to the farm above in Fousing. Here he got his first 5 years of education in the local village school, but later he attended "Realskole" and Gymnasium in Struer 7 km away.

At an early age travel was a major interest and during summer periods work camps in Europe was joined. Here at the age of 18 in Germany.

In 1968 he worked in a camp in "les Landes" in South France. A very attractive Slovakian girl (guess who on this photo) also attended this camp

    So in Early 1970 he married this most wonderful girl.

From 1969 he was working hard as a chemistry student at the University of Aarhus.

Anna's home in Budca, Slovakia, became a very relaxing holiday destination.

In December 1971 Michael arrived in the small family. This Christmas celebration was only 3 weeks after his birth.

   Besides hard studies time was also found to a favorite occupation: garden work. Here trees are removed to make space for a new garden in our Handrup summer house

After finishing University studies in 1977 with a Ph.D. in Chemistry he got a position as Post Doc within the Greenland Geological Survey in Copenhagen. In the home in Ølstykke gardening was still a favorite interest.

Two years later he moved to the Pharmaceutical company Lundbeck. Above is his 10 years jubilee celebration as medicinal chemist and he was happy to stay in the company for almost 20 years, the last 10 years as head of the Medicinal Chemistry Department.

Travels during vacation periods were very popular. Hiking in the wilderness like here in Jamtland, Sweden, always added new "energy" to the mind.

The Tatra mountains in Slovakia were also visited on many trips as here close to the Poland border.

On another visit to northern Sweden fishing in beautiful surroundings in a deserted river was quite relaxing.

In 1988 we decided to move to Jægerspris. The new house was build during summer according to our drawings. All paint work was made by ourselves.

A new garden was established. The Green House gave very tasty tomatoes and paprika in the following years.

The first crop in the utility garden was very carefully looked after. Picasso (our friendly Bernese Dog) also enjoyed our garden.
