Hey there skaters on the web welcome to my skateboarding secrets page. Dont worry if you arent a good skater I hopefully will fix that.
You know how get those skateboard magazines and there is an article on a good trick you want to learn, but there is some pro skater just telling you crap. I hate that and that is why this page is on the web.
These tricks are the basics and there are some pretty tough ones too.
If you are a beginer at skating this is what you need to know.
Everyone learns or finds out the basics to skating when they first
begin.
Here are some of the basics.
K this is basically the main trick of skating, because if you
didnt know how to ollie you couldnt do any other major tricks
like kickflips and heelflips, etc.
Here is my advise when ollieing, first do this stading still.
All you want to do is put what ever foot you fill comfortable at
the back of your deck. Then you wamt to put your other foot say
in the middle of your deck. After you have found comfortable
footing for this it is time to get into the tricky part of it.
Here is what you do say your left foot is in the middle of your
deck what you want to do is slide that foot up towards the
tip of your deck, BUT you want to slide on the side of your
foot, on the tip of your sole on your shoe. Dont worry about
pushing the deck down because when you jump you will
automatically push the back down. You see the point of sliding is
that you want your back end of your wheels in the air as well as
your front wheels.
Once you have become good at ollieing standing still you can
move to the next step (Ollieing Moveing)
K you have now mastered or can close to doing a standing
ollie, now it is time to move on. K when you do a riding ollie
the same principles stay the same like you push down and then
slide. It is a bit trickier do that while riding. But here is some
tips that helped me do a riding ollie.
NOTE: I see alot of people sliding and then bringing thier
sliding foot back down to the middle of the board causing them
to only land the ollie on the front foot.
And dont worry about getting a really high ollie yet, dont
worry it will come in time and practise.
K it is just basically the same as ollieing while moving.
All you want to do is get a comfortable speed (a speed that in
which you can clear your object). Then you want to remeber to lean
foward as you are rideing and then do your jump and slide.
What i do when ollieng an object is I dont even care about
jumping over the object. I try to do as high an ollie as possible
without even careing about the object.
And beginners do try to ollie something too big. Try to ollie
smalll things like a curb and work your way up.
Ok now this a hard trick to learn and it is an easy trick to
learn. Frist what you want to do is you want to get in the same
ollie position you did while ollieing only you want to have your
foot that is in front to be half on half off on the bottom part
of the deck, so that you have your heel stiking off the side of
the deck. In the the beginning you want to do this standing still
not moving. Now this is were it gets tough. But all you want to do
is to do an ollie but while you are in the air you
have to push down on your foot that is half half off making the
deck spin towards you.
Or you can stay in the same possion (half on half off) but
when you slide you dont slide like you regularly would you
would slide and push down at the same time. That way is alot
easier while riding.
Heelfliping is almost the same as kickfliping but you have to
move your foot to the top of the board this time.
first of all what you want to do is place your sliding foot
in the miidle of the board or where ever it is comfortable.
Then what you want to do is put your foot on the deck so that
your toes are sticking off of the board and your heel is still
on the deck. So you got your foot half on half of the deck like
a kickflip but your foot is on the top part of the deck right,
right good.
Now you slide like your doing an oolie but when you get to
the top of the deck you have to press down on the deck torwards
the ground making your deck spin away from you.
Try this until you got it perfected standing still then try
it riding. And dont worry if your foot feels wierd in that position
at first. You will get used to that.
Alot of skaters that I know have a difficult time with
switchstance. But the reason for this is because they try to do
switchstance kickflips and heelflips which is really hard when
you begin riding switchstance. You have to start at the basics agian,
like just getting the flow of riding sitchstance and doing ollies
in switchstance etc.
Like I said before dont start off by doing heelflips and
kickflips in switchstance you have to go back to the basics
and learn those in switchstance first, then do your heelflips
and kickflips etc.
Try to learn this trick with curbs first. When starting out
,be sure to ride slowly and at a 45 degree angle or less towards
the curb. It's MUCH easier to nollie/fakie ollie onto a curb when
your approaching from an shallow angle.
After you have that mastered try approaching the curb directly
. But dont just nollie/fakie ollie onto it, do moree like a "quarter-Cab"
or shifty. It helps you get onto the curb more easily. To be
more specific turn your a quarter towards the curb, then once you
are over it, turn your body a quarter backwards again to land
straight
Once you have perfected this method, try learning the"legitimate"
way, which is just doing it directly, no shifting ,no angels, no
nothing. The timing is the most difficult part. You will likely
have to nollie/fakie ollie a bit sooner than it might seem naturaly
in order to get over the obsticle.
All right, this trick is very simple to do once you get the hang of it. First what you want to know is how to do a heelflip. If you know how to do that then you are set. First you want to pop yiur tail down on the ground (you have to learn this trick moving, because it is impossible to do it standing still). Then you slide you foot up the deck like a heelflip, but once you flip it turn your body clockwise around. When you are doing this look at your deck the whole time. When you turn all the way around place your back foot on the deck and then gide your front font to the deck.
This trick is a bit harder to do then a normal kickflip. First what you want to know is how to do a kickflip and a pop- shovit if you know how to do those tricks your on your way. First you want to pop the tail on the ground (but if oyu do pop-shovits like me you sortof turn your back foot making your deck do a pop shovit). Once you pop it you start the motion of doing a kickflip, but at the same time you have to do a pop shovit. What helps for me is when you do a pop shovit you push down harder on the board then you would on a normal kickflip. That helps me spin the board better and faster.
When doing this trick you have to be riding fakie. If you dont know what fakie is then you should'nt try this trick. For this trick all you need to know basically is how to do a 180 kickflip in the fakie position. Get a comfortable speed in fakie, then you do a pop shovit like a normal pop shovit how ever you do it be twisting you foot when poping it or what ever but when you pop your shovit you have to kick out like when you do your kickflip. This will make the board do a pop-shovit and flip at the same time. You dont need to much hight, about the same as a normal kickflip. The main thing you probably need to work on the most is getting the board to flip around before it completely spins from the pop-shovit. If you kick out hard it should spin enough. Well theer you go try this move and necome a better skater.

Any Tips For Backside And Frontside 180's?
When learning this trick, its often quite helpfull to try to do it
onto a curb rather than on flatland.Try to approach the curb at a 45
degree angel or less. I find that when you have the curb there,
it gives you an extra bit of incentive to jump up onto it.
How Do I Nollie/Fakie Ollie Over Objects?
Backside Heelflip
There you go a backside heelflip. Keep working at it and you will get very soon.
180 Kickflip
Note: When doing your kickflip and you slide up the deck with your foot, try to kick that kicking foot in the air as long as you can. But you only need up there for short amount of time. You dont need more air time then a kicflip. You will be able to land it with the same amount of air as a kicklfip.
There you go a 180 kickflip. Keep working at it. It willtake a little more time to master this trick then other tricks.
