Millions of light years through the tiny pupil of the eye!

MAY 2001: MY NEW PERMANENT OBSERVATORY IS NEARLY FINISHED IN THE DARKEST REGION OF MOUNT MAINALON IN THE CENTER OF PELOPONESE - GREECE AT AN ALTITUDE OF 4400 FT. click here for details
!
when tired from sailing the Earth's seas, its time to blast off into the outer universe
I turned the roof of my mountain home into an observatory dome
pictures/mymountainobservatory.JPG which houses my 14''inch MEADE GPS telescope on a permanent equatoriel pier, an SBIG ST2000 CCD camera, working with a flip mirror eyepiece system in order to properly center images. I also have the new Meade DSI astroimager plus many accesories. pictures/mymountainobservatory2.JPG I go there alone,or together with other members of the Greek amateur astronomers society.
Astrophotos that were taken with the ST2000XM CCD through the 14inch Meade, can be seen here here. All information about astronomical equipment I purchased, was from the Astronomy, and Sky and Telescope magazines. The convertations during a good observing session, were recorded and written down here.I have also set a complete catalog of notes and descriptions on all the deep-sky objects I have seen through my telescope.I update this catalog regularly.
MY best friend in astronomy John Rosakis is doing the best astrophotography in Greece.Check here for some of his photos!
