Was at Mazo last weekend. The weather was fantastic and there were many beach goers. However, Saturday was difficult with the protesters. They harassed us most of the day especially while walking in from the parking lot (about a mile walk). Disregarding that, the weather, sun, water, beach, people, Nude Olympics, etc. were great fun. Nude my very first time on Black's Beach and loved it, although I fell in with a rough and flamboyant crowd. I was in my early 20s and fresh from both Cheyenne, WY (high school) and Vietnam (Navy). Having been away from the beach for years now, I find I truly miss it and the easy comraderie that seems to spring up when people are not hiding behind their uniforms. It's disappointing nude clubs and resorts are so expensive and that they usually cater to couples (I'm half of a couple but my wife doesn't sh re the interest/need). So, I usually feel like a third wheel at best and a pariah at worst. Thanks for firing the fond memories of Black's Beach. Do they still do the birthday gala on July 4th? I have enjoyed your site. Dust off your walking shoes & pull out your gloves. The first 2000 Spring Adopt-A-Highway cleanup is just around the corner. The date is Earth Day, Saturday, April 22nd at 10am. Rain Day is Sunday. One of the DNR's main focuses that they are trying to use against us is the supposed "degradation of natural resources" that they claim has happened at Mazo Beach. Let's get out in full force and help them realize just how much we really care about the environment. We will be meeting at the intersection of Laws and Conservation since the road may still be scheduled to be closed at the time. We will attempt to get permission from the DNR to open the gate during that time, but either way, will be meeting at the intersection. Naturally, as usual, our outing will end at Culver's for food, fun and non-door prizes. As in the past, we will clean Conservation Drive, Most of Laws Drive, and FOMB's and Badger Naturist's area on Hwy 78. Hope to see you there.

this past summer, my family spent a week in LaJolla and my daughter and I discovered Black's Beach. My daughter was not keen on coming back, but the rest of my mid mornings were spent at Black's Beach. My experience was the most life changing in many year .Since coming back to the Tampa Bay area, I am confounded that there is no tolerance for public beach nudism. I have joined an organization that is promoting the ida of an official clothing optional beach similar to Black's and Miami's Haulover. I expect hat that might a very steep climb here in Tampa. In the meantime, I have taken up Kayaking around the coast and find a number of uninhabited islands nudity compatibility. I am finding myself in my one button suit more often than ever before. Does anyone out there want to get a network going for families who want to coordinate going to the beach. We always take our kids but they have a lot more fun when other kids show up at the beach. We have found Mazo to be a good place to bring the kids ( ges 6,4 & 2) as everyone seems to be very watchful of them while they are in and around the water due to the current. It's our opinion that if we want Mazo beach to stay around we need to get children involved too, after all, they are the future. Also, does anyone in the northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin area know of any pool parties where children are welcome.

My first experience was Mazo. The freindliest group of people in the world. I got divorced on a really hot day. When it was over, I wanted to go swimming but didn't bring a suit.I figured I have to start my life over, I'm going to really do it. I went o Mazo. I was very nervous at first but ran into a beautiful woman who could tell it was my first time. In ten minutes, she talked me down and it was great. I went back a few more times that summer. It was very cleansing. I'm looking for something in Michigan's lower peninsula but no luck yet. I know about the landed clubs but as a single guy, I get caught in restrictions. If anybody has information to share, I would greatly appreciate it.

I got chance to go to San Diego last November for a class. Loved Blacks Beach. The beach was a bit empty (temp. in the low 70's). Just right for me since I left IA with 6 inches of snow on the ground. Might get a chance in July to go back.

Adopt-A-Highway Clean up Spring is here, the weather is getting warmer and April 18th will mark the day that Badger Naturists and Friends of Mazo Beach will show the public and the DNR that we care for the environment and the beach with our annual spring road clean up. Kick off t me for this event will be around 10 AM in the beach parking lot. We will clean the access road and 4 miles of Hwy 78 which the Badger Naturists and FOMB have adopted. After our planning party last Saturday, it was decided and confirmed that the MAZO BEACH PARTY WILL BE JANUARY 10-11, 1998 (not Jan 17-18 as was tentatively planned). We hope this doesn't make a negative difference for many people, but a number of people could not attend the party as planned, including most importantly a VERY good DJ that many people felt would help make the party a great success. Basic picnic fare will be provided (bar-b-que, chips, ice cream) and a dish to pass is requested with each r servation (fruit salad, dessert, etc). The price will be $15/pp for party and meal only; or $90/room which sleeps up to 4 and includes party and meal (thus, as little as $22.50/pp for everything if sharing a room with 3 others). RSVPs are mandatory; The e will be NO walk-ins.
