BARR CAMP, located halfway up Pikes Peak in central Colorado, is a hiker shelter and base-camp operated as a nonprofit organization. In the summer it is a host to a countless number of visitors enjoying the splendid beauty to be found on the east face of this famous mountain. Somewhat isolated, the camp sees fewer visitors in the winter months.

This cabin was my home from 1982-87 and again for a winter in 1990. Although I now live several hundred miles away I find myself going back to this special place through the pictures and memories that I acquired over the years. This Ink Drawing was done by my wife Cathy during our winter of 90-91. It was made it the form of a greeting-card. There have been many photographs taken of the front of the main cabin over the years and a few sketches and paintings as well. Here is another painting of a different sort.

On these pages I wish to share information that I gained over the years. I will give some history lessons and take you on some tours of the sights to be seen. The following links will get you started
