Descent Gully Walls >
The first view you get of Thompson's Point after popping out of the Descent Gully.

And yep, this is the last view you get when walking out!

This shot is of the Concrete Petunias arete, the best bit of rock at Nowra in my opinion.
** Gunbarrel Highway 25m 19 (OS)
Me about half way up this long, steep, and bloody great slab. As you can see, there's usually a fair bit of traffic.
*** Killer Boas 10m 22 (OS)
Preparing for the crux during the onsight, after the overhung start.
** Electro Rooter 12m 22 (RP)
Me well and truly on a grounder. That second clip is a worry! A beaut climb, with a great crux, and quite a sustained sequence to the anchor. Note the overhanging arete on the skyline - thats Mosquito Slap (21, downgraded from 24!) - looks damn good hey?!?!
Pulling on the Porcelain *** 12m 23 (OS)
A climbing photo without a climber! Here's my rope on it after my onsight. Notice the massively overhanging grease cave behind.

Greg cruises on second. Something of an arse shot, it does at least show the crux holds (top right), and the unique folded lip along the inside of which you climb.
|
Black Beddy ** 10m 23
Here's a climber approaching the final moves crux. The central section of Beddy Blue (24), including the crux past the bolt, is visible on the right.
*** Still Life With Chalk Bag 15m 23 (RP)
Definitely the best climb I've done at Nowra. (Also the scene of my biggest Nowra whipper - if you dyno for the top, you end up about where I am in the lefthand shot . . . .)

Continuing up the excellent steepening arete.
