| This is the pride of the United States Navy. If you didn't know it, let me inform you that she is the oldest, STILL commissioned U.S. warship. She was permanently commisioned by an Act Of Congress. Her up keep is the responsibility of The Secretary of the Navy. I didn't know any of this or the other facts I found until i visited the Navy's website. their history and image archives are fantastic. |
