Angel Dancer

Bob is from Albuquerque New Mexico (the largest city in the 47th U. S. State) via Omaha, Nebraska and Las Vegas, Nevada. He is married to Marge Woodall who works for the U.S. Postal Service. He has been flying for 5 years. He bought his first balloon, Midnight Angel from Sam Baxter who also gave him his flying lessons. Later Bob bought his second balloon, Angel Del Sol, and sold Midnight Angel to Jimmy Hill who subsequently sold it to Steve Colbert, one of Bob's crew members. Later he purchased his third balloon, which he named Angel Dancer. He sold Angel Dancer to Mark Hufford, another crew member, after he purchased his fourth Balloon. He kept the name Angel Dancer for his new balloon and Mark renamed the former Angel Dancer to "Clarence" (the angel in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life".) He sold Angel del Sol to Sam C. D. Baca.
Bob has been flying in "The Big One" (Kodak Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta) for five years. In his second fiesta appearance he "won the gold", placing first in points for his group on the second day. He is respected not only for his flying ability, but also for his outlook on safety. His favorite saying is "I'd rather be down here wishing I was up there, than up there wishing I was down here". In addition to "The Big One", Bob has flown at White Sands Balloon Rally, Elephant Butte Balloon and Boat Regatta, Las Cruces Mesilla Valley Rally, Deming Duck Races Balloon Rally, Raton Santa Fe Trail Balloon Rally, Grants Fiesta de Colores Rally, Los Lunas St. Patrick's Day Rallye, Gallup Red Rock Balloon Rally, Chama Balloon and Snowmobile Rally, Durango Snowdown Rally, Taos Mountain Balloon Rally, Pinetop Rally, Friends and Lovers Rally and Jingle Bells Rally in Rio Rancho. He also tethers each Christmas season at the Country Club Balloon and Luminaria Glow. Bob has given tethered rides at elementary schools and special events in the local area and as far away as the Laguna Indian Pueblo.
