Yosemite Adventure

We're at Yosemite National Park!

May 30
It's Yosemite Adventure day! Dimples, James, muajee, nth, Liew, Ernest and I were the ones who went. We decided to climb up the Yosemite Falls afterall. It was strenuous and tiring to climb up to about 1,200 ft. We took about 1.5 hours to climb up but it was worth the efforts. It was so beautiful up there and the scenery was breathtaking.

We had a little picnic up in the mountains, just next to the waterfall. We had regular homemade sandwiches but everything tasted so good when you are up there with the fresh breeze of waterfall all around you and the occasional spray from the torrents. It's like an Ansel Adams's picture coming alive. We even saw two deers near the waterfall!

While on our way back to Fresno, we stop somewhere along highway 41 to look at the stars. It was a clear, starry night, just perfect for star-gazing. We managed to look at the moon, identified some of the constellations like Scorpius(scorpion), Libra(scales) and Corvus(crow), and some stars like Vega from the constellation of Lyra, Arcturus(bear-guard) from the constellation of Boötes, the double star of Mizar and Alcor from the constellation of Ursa Major(the Great Bear aka Big Dipper) and Carl's Junior's Super Star! Thanks to Ernest for giving us a crash course on Astronomy and lending us his magnificent Celestron telescope. (Check out the links page for links of other websites with pictures of constellations)
