Christmas catalog and was talking about what kind of crazy person would buy such objects until he saw the one listed above. Could he manage a Magic Kingdom? After careful consideration he bought the magic kingdom from Rosen's Ltd., a well-known department store actually delivered the magic kingdom. After meeting with Mr. Meeks and scheduling an appointment with him for 10:00 the following morning he went around New York drinking glass after glass of scotch and thinking about if he really wanted to spend a million dollars on a magic kingdom. He had the money because his parents had a profitable law practice and he had a few million so he would be able to afford it. He went the following morning and saw Mr. Meeks. After wandering around a large building and finally going to customer service he was directed to go to the penthouse and meet with Mr. Meeks. He went and talked to him and they went over a background check. Mr. Meeks explained to Mr. Holiday that his qualifications would treat him well as king and he has the necessary qualifications to do a good job as king. Then they went over the contract and went over a clause that would forfeit the whole kingdom if he left within the first year. Ben didn't understand this so he asked Mr. Meeks and he explained that he needed to have a king that would stay for at least the first year. Then he called his accountant Ed. Samuelson and told him to sell stocks and bonds to the amount of 1,000,000 in cash within the next 10 days. Then he went back to Mr. Meeks office and got the instructions on how to pickup this extravagant gift. He got instructions to fly to Charlottesville, VA and he would pickup a package and a car in his name. He drove the car to a turnaround marked with the number 13 and locked the keys in the car. He walked 2 miles down a forest path and went to a cave type structure that was 24 feet wide and about 48 tall. He then fell through and was being chased by some type of creature. After his journey to Landover he meets a wizard named Quester Thews showed him around the kingdom. Then they went to Sterling Silver the castle where he was to live. The castle looked old and decrepit. He would live there in Sterling Silver with his dog and two monkey looking creatures to help him. He thought it was cool that he could talk to all other living things in the kingdom. The magic pendant that he wore around his neck allowed him to talk to all the living things in the kingdom and allow them to communicate with him like they spoke English. He had dinner and the wizard put a thimbleful of sleeping potion in his drink. He slept for a week and when he woke up it was a week later, the day of his coronation. Ben was very upset because he had only three days left on his return policy. This was just the start of his bad luck. Ben found out that he had to fight a dragon to get control of the kingdom he bought. Then Ben went to the lord of the greensward to ask for help. Ben holiday went to meet Lord Kallendbor talked to him about the perils of trying to become the king of Londoner. He explained that the coronation ceremony that was happening today was happening so many ]times a year that people couldn't attend every one let alone want to. That night at dinner Ben wasn't drinking his wine and the others noted this, They told him that poison wouldn't be used if they wanted to kill a to be king. They were going to pledge their allegiance to him if he married one of their people. Ben reused telling them that he lost his wife soon before and it was too soon to marry someone else. They wouldn't accept his excuse and called him a fake like all the others. Then he played a game called Fisticuffs also known as boxing in our world. Ben lost this boxing match and didn't get any support from the greensward. Ben kept trying to The kingdom was in ruins. The peasants were without any hope, and the Barons refused to recognize a king. A dragon was laying waste on the countryside, while an evil witch plotted to destroy everything in sight. Ben's only followers were the Court Magician; Abernathy, a talking dog who served as the Court Scribe, and the lovely Willow. The Paladin, the legendary champion of the Kings of Landover, seemed to be a myth and an empty suit of armor. Landover was your normal run of the mill magic kingdom, with fairy folk, and wizardry, just like the advertisement had promised. But once Ben Holiday purchased it for a whopping $1,000,000, he found out a couple of details that the ad had failed to mention. The kingdom was in ruins. And to make matters even more stressful, Ben soon learned that the Iron Mark, lord of the demons, had challenged all the Kings before Ben to a duel to the death - a duel which no human could ever hope to win. A year had passed since Ben Holiday purchased the Magic Kingdom from the wizard Meeks. Ben had survived with the aid of his three loyal friend: Questor Thews, an ill-trained wizard; Abernathy, a talking dog; and the lovely Willow, who sometimes had to become a tree. However Ben had been troubled by dreams of disaster of his former partner, Miles Bennett. Yet when he returned to Earth, Ben found Miles doing splendidly. Unknown to Ben, the dreams had been a trap set by Meeks, who returned to the Magic Kingdom as a tiny insect hidden in Ben's clothing. That first night back in Landover, Ben awoke to see Meeks gloating over him, claiming to have the medallion that could summon the mysterious Paladin, and that he had cast a spell to switch appearances with Ben. Ben found himself an outcast, no longer recognized by any of his friends, though all his powerful enemies seemed to know who he was. Without his medallion he couldn't seek out the help of the Paladin against Meeks. There was only one hope: The prism cat - whatever that might be!
